    The HD Interactive set-top box supports the transmission of cable TV and local free-to-air channels in both High and Standard Definition.

    The HD Interactive set-top box also comes with an inbuilt DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem that provides two-way interactivity, where viewers can enjoy features such as access to Video-On-Demand services, KaraOK!, Start Over, Movie Ticketing and Instant Buy of channels on-screen via remote control.
  2. How much is the HD Interactive set-top box?
    The HD Interactive set-top box is available for rent at a monthly rental charge of $6.42 (w/GST). If the HD Interactive set-top box is used as the additional outlet, the monthly rental charges are $14.98 (w/GST).

    No, the HD Interactive set-top box is only available for rent.
  4. I do not have two-way signals at my premises. Can I still sign up for the HD Interactive set-top box?
    Yes, you may still sign up for the HD Interactive set-top box and enjoy High Definition programmes.

    However, your inbuilt cable modem will not be activated and you would not be able to access Video-On-Demand services and two-way interactivity features such as KaraOK!, Start Over and Movie Ticketing.
  5. How can I check if my address is cable ready with two-way signals?
    You may visit StarHub's website http://www.starhub.com/support/tv.html and click on "Cable Ready Status" under Facts. Enter your postal code to find out the "cable ready" status of your home.
  6. Can I view the SD channels using the HD Interactive set-top box?
    Yes. The HD Interactive set-top box is designed to support both standard definition and high definition TV broadcasts.
  7. Can I receive MediaCorp Channel HD5 from the HD Interactive set-top box?
    Yes, you will be able to receive MediaCorp HD5 on Channel 155.
  8. What are the interfaces available for StarHub's HD Interactive set-top box?
    StarHub's HD Interactive set-top box provides several interfaces to optimise your HDTV viewing experience.

    The HD Interactive set-top box provides a HDMI and a Component Video interface that outputs HD video signals to your HD ready TV display. You can connect your HDTV display set to either of the two interfaces to receive the HD and SD programmes.

    As some of the HD programmes will be transmitted in Dolby Digital, you can connect your Home Entertainment system to the HD Interactive set-top box, via the SPDIF interface using a coaxial cable, to enjoy the surround sound effect.

  11. With the introduction of the HD Interactive set-top box, does it mean that there will also be Video-On-Demand programmes which will also be available in HD?
    Yes, some of the movies and TVB drama series are available in HD and you will get to enjoy such content in full HD glory using the HD Interactive set-top box.
  12. I notice that the front panel LED display will be dimmed when the HD Interactive Set-top box enters into standby mode. Why is this different from the HubStation or HubStation HD?
    By dimming the LED display when it enters into standby mode, the HD Interactive Set-top box will help to reduce power consumption.
