  1. Can I upgrade to the iPhone 4S even though I have a current handset contract with StarHub?
    Yes, you can upgrade to your iPhone 4S from the 13th month of your existing contract. $200 Early Handset Upgrade Fee is applicable for 12-month Early Handset Upgrade; $300 is applicable for Early Handset Upgrade on iPhone Mobile Equipment Contract for renewing between the 13th and 21st month of your contract. Please check with the sales consultant at the point of purchase. Other usual re-contract terms and conditions will still apply.

  2. Are there specific price plans for the iPhone 4S and must I switch to the new price plans if I want to purchase the iPhone 4S?
    Existing StarHub Mobile Postpaid customers are able to renew their existing contract from the 13th month of the contract. However, we would recommend our customers to convert to a SmartSurf iPhone plan when they buy any iPhone model. For details on the plans, please visit www.starhub.com/iphone.

  3. I have an existing iPhone, can I trade in my old iPhone when I buy my new iPhone 4S with StarHub?
    Yes, you will be able to trade in your old iPhone at the prevailing trade-in prices when you buy a new iPhone 4S from StarHub. Please note acceptance of the old iPhone is at the sole discretion of StarHub.

  4. Other than your SmartSurf iPhone pricing, where can I get the pricing for other price plans?

  1. Are there any exceptions to allow StarHub customers to upgrade to iPhone 4S within the first 12 months of a 24-month handset contract?
    Customers are not eligible to upgrade their handsets within the first 12 months of a handset contract.

  2. Is there an option to allow iPhone 4/ 3G S customers in contract to exchange their handsets for an iPhone 4S?
    There is currently no exchange option for iPhone 4/ 3G S customers. 

  3. Can the purchase of iPhone 4S be redeemed with handset upgrade vouchers issued by StarHub?
    Yes, iPhone 4S purchase can be redeemed with any valid handset upgrade vouchers issued by StarHub.

  4. What are the terms & conditions of an iPhone Contract?
    • As the iPhone is sold to customers at an offer price, contractually they are required to subscribe to the mobile plan for the entire contractual period.
    • Minimum period of 24 months.
    • 12th month Early Handset Upgrade Scheme apply. Early Handset Upgrade fee is at $300, which is payable on top of the price of the new handset.
    • No downgrade of mobile subscription plans is allowed within the contractual period.
    • Early Termination Charges (ETC) applies for termination of subscription within the contractual period.

  1. What is StarHub TV on Mobile?

    StarHub TV on Mobile is a value-added service (VAS) by StarHub Mobile that allows mobile postpaid customers to watch selected StarHub TV channels 'live' via their mobile phone.

  2. Who can use StarHub TV on Mobile service?

    This value-added service (VAS) is available to all StarHub Mobile postpaid customers who are using the selected handsets which support StarHub TV on Mobile streaming via Gee!/WAP.

  3. How much do I have to pay to subscribe to StarHub TV on Mobile VAS?

    StarHub TV on Mobile VAS is free for StarHub Mobile postpaid customers using iPhone. This promotion is valid till 31 March 2010.

  4. Do I need to pay GPRS charges when accessing StarHub TV on Mobile?

    Subscribers of StarHub TV on Mobile VAS can enjoy unlimited access to the live streaming channels with no additional GPRS charges.

    However, usual roaming GPRS charges will apply when the service is used overseas.

  5. How can I access StarHub TV on Mobile on my iPhone?

    To access StarHub TV on Mobile from your iPhone, simply download the app via App Store and synch it to your iPhone. Launch the app in your iPhone to start watching the channels.
    Please note that if you download the StarHub TV on Mobile App via the App Store on your iPhone, usual GPRS charges will apply.

  6. Can I sign up for StarHub TV on Mobile and use it on any mobile phone?

    StarHub TV on Mobile streaming service is handset dependent, customers should refer to the list of supported handsets before they sign up for the service to make sure their handsets can support the service.

  7. I can't seem to access the StarHub TV on Mobile WAP site. What could be the problem?

    There could be various reasons why you might not be able to access StarHub TV on Mobile service.

    Please check that you have activated Gee! on your mobile number and also your mobile phone GPRS settings are correct before trying again. You will need to select "GEE! 3G/GPRS" access point in order to use StarHub TV on Mobile service.

    Otherwise, please call 1633 for assistance.

  8. What is the access point to be used for accessing the StarHub TV on Mobile service?

    You need to select "GEE! 3G/GPRS" access point to use the StarHub TV on Mobile service. Connecting to the StarHub TV on Mobile application via Wi-Fi and "StarHub Internet" access point settings is not supported.

MobiTweet

  1. What is MobiTweet?

    MobiTweet is a Twitter service provided by StarHub to let StarHub Mobile postpaid and prepaid customers use their existing Twitter account.

  2. How is MobiTweet different from Twitter?

    MobiTweet merely serves as a platform to let customers use their Twitter account.

    With MobiTweet, customers can choose to Tweet via SMS or via Gee! and still be able to send tweets via their Twitter account.

  3. How does MobiTweet via SMS work?

    To use MobiTweet via SMS, you will need to perform a one-time simple set-up:
    1. Visit www.starhub.com/mobitweet
    2. Login with your existing Twitter ID and password (if you do not have one, you will 1st need to create one at www.twitter.com)
    3. After logging in with your Twitter account, just simply enter your StarHub Mobile postpaid or prepaid number and you are ready to Tweet
    4. SMS <tweet message^> to 9000 any time to Tweet
    5. SMS are deducted from your SMS bundle and excess charge is at 5.35cents/SMS

^Maximum number of characters in a tweet message is 140 characters. Messages longer than 140 characters will only be displayed up to 140 characters of the message.

  1. What other features can I enjoy with MobiTweet via SMS?

    MobiTweet via SMS gives you the convenience to tweet any time and anywhere you want. You can also:
    1. Add up to maximum 10 of your followers to be able to receive tweet updates from them via SMS
    2. You can pause at any time you want if you do not want to receive SMS tweet updates by sending SMS <TWPAUSE> to 9000
    3. Once you are ready to receive SMS tweet updates again, simply SMS <TWRESUME> to 9000
    4. You can also choose to set the desired daily timing not to receive SMS tweet updates (defaulted timing is between 2300 to 0700 hours)
    5. Or you can also choose to get SMS tweet updates all the time

  2. Who can use MobiTweet via SMS?

    All StarHub Mobile postpaid and prepaid customers can use MobiTweet via SMS. They just have to register and set-up the service to start tweeting via SMS.

  3. How does MobiTweet via Gee! work?

    Using MobiTweet via Gee! is very easy and similar to how you will tweet online:
    1. Just SMS <MOBITWEET> to 6757
    2. Click on the link in the returned SMS to MobiTweet landing page in Gee!
    3. Login with your existing Twitter ID and password (if you do not have one, you will 1st need to create one at www.twitter.com)
    4. Tweet and receive tweets as per how you would via online

  4. What other features can I enjoy with MobiTweet via Gee!?

    MobiTweet via Gee! is so simple and similar to online Twitter. You can:
    1. Send tweets^
    2. Read tweets from followers
    3. Search and add new followers
    4. Remove existing followers

    SMS sent via MobiTweet is deducted from customer's price plan SMS bundle and excess charge is at 5.35 cents per SMS. However, students with their StarHub's Student plan can enjoy unlimited usage with their unlimited SMS bundle.

  3. How much will I be charged when I use MobiTweet via Gee!?

    MobiTweet via Gee! is a totally free service with zero data charges when the service is used locally.

  4. I cannot seem to SMS my tweet message to 9000, what could be the problem?

    First, please make sure that you have already registered and set up the MobiTweet via SMS service online and included your mobile number. If you have not done so, please login via www.starhub.com/mobitweet.

    You will also need to make sure that the mobile number you have entered is a StarHub Mobile postpaid number as this service is only for postpaid customers.

  5. I cannot seem to access MobiTweet via Gee!, what could be the problem?

    Please make sure that your GPRS setting is correct. You will need to select "GEE! 3G/GPRS" access point in order to access Gee! portal.

    If your access point is incorrect, you might want to resend the correct settings to your phone by clicking here.

    Also, do check that your Twitter ID and password is correct and try again.

MMS/GPRS Settings

  1. How do i set up MMS for my iPhone? Can I set up my MMS only after I have activated data?

    MMS setting is together with the carrier bundle when customer first tether the device to unbrick. The settings apply immediately after unbricking and restarting the phone. There is no further setup required for MMS, GPRS or using it as a modem. All these settings are included in the carrier bundle. Please remember to power down and power up the phone after unbricking your iPhone.

Manage data usage when using your iPhone

There are several ways to reduce your data charges when using your iPhone, simply by turning off all push notifications and location services in your iPhone.

To stop push notifications.

  • Select Settings -> Notifications -> Notifications -> OFF.


To stop location services
     

  • Select Settings -> General -> Location Services -> OFF.


If you want to continue using emails but want to reduce the barrage of emails, you can still do so by turning off the fetch feature:
     

  • Turning off fetch. Select Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Fetch New Data -> Push -> OFF.


And if you absolutely must have your iPhone when traveling abroad but do not want to use any data, you can follow the steps below to turn off Data Roaming:
     

  • Select Settings -> General -> Network -> Data Roaming -> OFF. This will make sure that bandwidth is not being used by your iPhone without your permission.
