My Locator WAP
- How do I subscribe to My Locator WAP?
There is no prior subscription and activation needed to use My Locator. Customers can log on to mylocator.starhub.com in order to use the service. Customers are able to send tracking request, view nearby points of interest, among other features.
As My Locator WAP requires GPRS connectivity, customers will be charged data usage at prevailing rates.
- Is My Locator WAP service handset dependent?
While the graphical display is handset dependent, the My Locator WAP service is supported on most handsets that come with a WAP browser. However, customers need to have an active data plan in order to use My Locator WAP service.
- I am not able to access My Locator WAP. What should I do?
Please ensure that you have the correct GPRS settings. You will need to select "GEE! 3G/GPRS" as your default access point in order to access Gee! portal.
If your access point is incorrect, you can request the correct settings for your phone by clicking here.
- Will I incur data charge when I use My Locator WAP?
Yes, my Locator WAP is a data service and standard data charges apply based on the subscribed data plan
Likewise, if the customer is accessing My Locator WAP while roaming, the usual roaming charges will apply too. Click here for roaming GPRS charges.
- I am asked to enter my mobile number and password. What is this for?
For selected handsets (e.g. iPhone & Windows 7 phones), you may be required to use your mobile number and password to log in. However, no log in is required if you are using other handsets.
- How do I start using My Locator WAP service?
As a first time user,
- click ‘Register’
- enter your mobile number and a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to you.
- enter the OTP and you will prompted to enter a password of your choice. This will be your password for all subsequent logins.
- How should I create my password?
You should create a password consist of a minimum of 6 alpha-numeric characters.
- I have forgotten my password, how can I reset my password?
You can reset your password by clicking “Reset Password” and following the steps to create a new password.
- What are the features I can enjoy using My Locator WAP?
These are the features you can enjoy by logging into My Locator WAP:
- Send a permanent or adhoc tracking request to your family or friends
- Receive instant location updates of your permanent trackees
- View the location of your trackees by clicking on the map
- Find nearby points of interest, with a wide range of categories to choose from.
- View up to seven days of the trackees’ historical movement
- Set avatar image and nickname for yourself and your trackees for easy identification
- Geo Fencing – Easily set geo fencing locations for your trackees by using address or postal code
- View the list of mobile numbers that are tracking you
- View Hide List – a list of people whom you have hidden from being located.
- View Past Requests you received and sent by you
- Delete Trackees
- Change Trackees
- Can I find my friend’s mobile numbers via the address book of the phone?
No, My Locator via WAP will not be able to access your phone book on your mobile phone.
- Can I use my own images?
No, user will only be able to choose their image from the list of available avatar images.
- I am a trackee and I recently changed my mobile number. Will the tracker be able to track me now via this new number?
No, if a trackee changes his/her mobile number, the tracker is require to re-obtain tracking permission from the trackee based on his/her new number.
- I received late SMS updates long after the person have left/entered the area(s) I have geo-fenced. Why is this so?
Geo fencing alerts give an indicator, and not a real time update of the person entering or leaving assigned vicinity with a radius between 200m and 2km. The alerts are triggered after the trackee moves in or out of the said range of the geo fenced area. In some cases, there would be a delay in receiving the SMS alerts.
- What is ‘Find Nearby’?
‘Find Nearby’ provides you with points of interest such as Banks, ATM’s, Clinics, Entertainment, Restaurants and others (“POI”) around your current location or around the location(s) of your trackee(s). You can view the list of available POI’s, their addresses and locations on the map.
- Under ‘My Invitations’, will expired invitations be displayed?
No, only valid invitations will be displayed. All expired invitations will not be displayed.
- How many past requests will be displayed under ‘My Sent Invite’?
Under ‘My Sent Invites’, a maximum of 15 past requests will be displayed.
- How many days of the historical trace are available for me to view?
You can view the historical trace of your trackee(s) for up to the past 7 days since the time of activation of the trackee(s).
