Yes, Facebook Zero is FREE with no data charges incurred – as long as you surf within Facebook Zero site using only “GEE! 3G/GPRS” or “SHWAP” for postpaid customer and “Prepaid GEE! GPRS” for prepaid customers as your access point. Browsing of photos/images and videos will incur data charges. Similarly, leaving the Facebook Zero site to the normal Facebook Mobile site at (http://m.facebook.com) will incur the usual data charges.
- Any specific configurations or settings that I have to use to enjoy Facebook Zero for FREE?
You have to ensure that you are using “GEE! 3G/GPRS” or “SHWAP” access points for post-paid and “Prepaid GEE! GPRS” access points for prepaid to enjoy FREE access to Facebook Zero.
- How can I check what is the access point that I am using?
To check on the access point that you are using, you may look for it in your Web browser in your phone. Click on the Web icon and look for “Settings”. Inside “Settings” you may find the list of access points. Choose “GEE! 3G/GPRS” or “SHWAP” for postpaid and “Prepaid GEE! GPRS” for prepaid as your access point and set it as default. Please note that these steps may differ from phone to phone. You are advised to contact our Customer Care Hotline at 1633 if you require assistance.
- How do I know if I am leaving the Facebook Zero site to the chargeable pages?
Facebook Zero will send a prompt message to you, alerting you that you are that leaving the current Facebook Zero to a page that will incur data charges.
- What are the kinds of external links that I might encounter in Facebook Zero?
Sharing of external links such as YouTube videos or news articles with your friends on Facebook is very popular. When you click on an external link, you will get an alert that will inform you that usual data charges will apply for accessing this external link.
- Are there any pages that are chargeable in Facebook Zero?
Browsing of photos/images or videos within Facebook Zero will incur the usual data charges.
- Will I be charged if I browse the normal Facebook Mobile site at http://m.facebook.com ?
Yes, the Facebook Mobile (http://m.facebook.com) site is chargeable. Usual data charges will apply upon accessing the Facebook Mobile site.
- Is accessing www.facebook.com on my mobile phone free?
No, it isn’t. Other than Facebook Zero, all other Facebook sites are subject to the usual data charges.
Facebook for feature phones
- What is Facebook for feature phones?
Facebook for feature phones is an application that allow customer to access Facebook without incurring high data charges. However, any links to third party content outside the application will incur the usual data charges.
- What features will the application have?
The Facebook for feature phones application will have all the main Facebook features including news feed, messages, friend search and photos.
- How do I subscribe to Facebook for feature phones?
No subscription is required. StarHub Mobile post-paid and prepaid customers can simply download the application via StarHub Gee! portal or SMS <FBAPP> to 6757 to download the application.

- Who can use Facebook for feature phones?
All Prepaid Happy Stars user can use the Facebook for feature phones for Free. StarHub Mobile postpaid and prepaid customers with Facebook for feature phones supported handsets can use this service with usual data charges apply.
- Do I need to pay any additional data charge to use Facebook for feature phones?
Happy Stars customers who access Facebook via the application only and use it in Singapore, no data charges will be incurred. However, please take note that usual data charges will apply if you access any URL outside of the application.
- Will viewing/uploading of photos be zero-rated? Are there any links to contents within Facebook for feature phones that are chargeable?
Unlike 0.facebook.com, viewing/uploading of photos will be zero rated. However, accessing links that link you to any third party content (e.g. news, weather, sports, etc) will incur the usual data charges.
- Will viewing, uploading or streaming of video clips be zero-rated?
No, usual data charges apply for viewing, uploading or streaming of video clips.
- How do I know if I am entering any third party chargeable sites?
A prompt message will be send to you, alerting you that you are entering a third party site that will incur data charges.
- How do I restore the prompt message to display again if I have previously click on “Don’t show again” in the prompt message?
In order to restore the prompt message, you need to delete and re-install the Facebook App on your mobile phone again.
- What is the access point to be used for accessing Facebook for feature phones?
You will need to select “GEE! 3G/GPRS” or “SHWAP” access point for postpaid and “Prepaid GEE! GPRS” access point for prepaid to use Facebook for featured phones for Free. Please take note that free access to Facebook for featured phones is not supported by connecting via Wi-Fi and StarHub Internet GPRS connection.
- Where can customer submit their queries with regards to Facebook for feature phones?
Customer can submit their issues and queries with regards to Facebook for feature phones by login on to Facebook > Account > App Support.
