Pricing & Service Plans

  1. How are data usage charges calculated?
Data usage is delivered in 'packet' and charged by the amount of KB incurred during send and receive sessions.  This means that data usage charges are based on the amount of data sent and received while surfing on WAP, HTML pages, sending/receiving email and/or downloading content from the WAP, HTML portal.
  2. What is an average size of the WAP page when I'm surfing on Gee!?  How much does this usually cost?
The average size of each WAP page on Gee! is approximately 35KB on the 3G network and 25KB on 2.5G (GPRS) network respectively. Data usage will be deducted from your mobile bundle (if any) or MaxMobile data plan. Prevailing rate apply to excess data usages.

The size of the WAP page is decided by the content provider, and is not determined by StarHub.
  3. While downloading the content (e.g. MP3 ringtone or MMS wallpaper), do I incur data charge?
This is dependent on the content. Prevailing data charges do apply to select content downloads.

For the list of content prices, please refer to Gee! Fun Downloads.
  4. When watching a video clip via video-streaming, will I incur data charges as well?
No, there is no GPRS charge when you watch streaming videos on your mobile phone. GPRS usage is only chargeable when you are browsing the internet/content sites that are outside of the Gee! portal, on your mobile phone.
  5. What are the various data plans available?
Customers can choose from mobile plan with bundled data plan or standalone Data-Pack plans.
  1. What are the services/applications that would incur data charges?
Applications such as photo-sharing or instant messaging (where/if available on the phone) which access the internet will incur data charges when in use. This depends on the size of each page/content that you have sent/received while using the service/application. Applications such as GPS (Global Positioning System) may also automatically download maps/updates via GPRS, and charges will be applicable as well when browsing.
  2. I have a 3G USIM card and I use my mobile phone as a modem to connect to the Internet. Do I have to pay for data as well?
Yes, prevailing data charges will apply. The applicable rates will depend on the data plan you are subscribed to.
