Prepaid Registration

  1. Why must I register my prepaid cards?
    It is a regulatory requirement by IDA that all prepaid cards must be registered with their service providers.
  2. Are there any penalties for customers who do not produce identification documents for registration?
    As mandated by the authorities, service providers are not permitted to sell prepaid cards to customers who do not have identification documents with them at the point of registration.
  3. Can I appoint a family member to register my prepaid card(s) on my behalf?
    As mandated by the authorities, a family member can only register on your behalf if you are overseas. In this instance, immediate family members may register the prepaid card by producing both the GREEN Prepaid SIM cardholder's and their own NRICs, with an accompanying authorisation letter signed by the prepaid card owner for registration.
  4. I have lost my NRIC, can I register with my driving license?
    No. As mandated by the authorities, the only acceptable identification document for Singaporeans and Permanent residents is your original NRIC. The only exception is for National Servicemen who can produce their SAF 11B, SPF11B or SDDF11B2 pass for registration.
  5. I will be 15 years old in three days' time. Can I register my GREEN Prepaid SIM Card today?
    As mandated by the authorities, all prepaid card registrants must be 15 years old and above.
  6. How can I check if my GREEN Prepaid SIM card has been registered?
    Please call our GREEN Prepaid hotline at 98500000 and select option 4 in the main menu to check if your card has been registered with StarHub.
  7. How can I check the total number of prepaid cards that I have registered in Singapore?
    Please call our GREEN Prepaid hotline at 98500000 and select option 4 in the main menu to check on the total number of prepaid cards you have registered with StarHub.
  8. If I have already registered 10 prepaid cards, what will happen if I purchase 11th card?
    You will need to de-register one of the existing 10 cards registered under your name before you can register for a new card. Each customer is only allowed to have a total of 10 prepaid cards registered in his/her name at any one time.
  9. How do I de-register my GREEN Prepaid SIM card?
    To de-register, please proceed to any StarHub Customer Service Center with your NRIC and GREEN Prepaid SIM card.
  10. What if I discover someone has used my identification document to register a prepaid card?
    Any unauthorised registration should be reported to the police immediately for further investigation.
