Introduction of MaxMobile Value Prepaid

  1. What is MaxMobile Value Prepaid?
    MaxMobile Value Prepaid is a value-added service which offers data usage for StarHub GREEN Prepaid customers.

    Customers using GREEN Prepaid SIM cards (except MaxMobile Prepaid SIM Card) can activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid and purchase a data package to start surfing the internet with their mobile phone.

    Note: MaxMobile Value Prepaid cannot be activated on MaxMobile Prepaid SIM Card.

  2. How is MaxMobile Value Prepaid different from MaxMobile Prepaid?
    MaxMobile Value Prepaid is a value-added service which can only be activated on a GREEN Prepaid SIM card. Upon activation, you can access the Internet using your current GREEN Prepaid SIM card and your handset.

    MaxMobile Prepaid is a data-only SIM card which allows you to access the Internet through a handset or a USB stick.

    Note: MaxMobile Value Prepaid cannot be activated on MaxMobile Prepaid SIM Card.

  3. Where can I use MaxMobile Value Prepaid?
    MaxMobile Value Prepaid is a mobile data service which can be used anywhere in Singapore, out of your home or office, with the purchase of any MaxMobile Value Prepaid packages.

    Note: MaxMobile Value Prepaid is not applicable for roaming.

MaxMobile Value Prepaid Packages available

  1. What are MaxMobile Value Prepaid packages? How much do they cost?
    To start surfing the Internet, you can choose to purchase from a variety of MaxMobile Value Prepaid data packages based on your data usage, as follows:
    (a) Pay S$2 Get 30MB with 3-day validity
    (b) Pay S$4 Get 200MB with 3-day validity
    (c) Pay S$7 Get 1GB with 7-day validity
    (d) Pay $15 Get 500MB with 30-day validity
    (e) Pay $20 Get 1GB with 30-day validity

  2. How do I activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid package?
    To activate a MaxMobile Value Prepaid package, simply key *131# and press send/dial on your mobile phone. Simply follow the instructions on-screen to activate a package of your choice.

  3. How are MaxMobile Value Prepaid packages being charged?
    All MaxMobile Value Prepaid packages will be charged fairly based on a 3, 7 or 30-day 24-hour clock cycle. This would mean that if the customer activates a 30MB data package on 01-Oct-09 at 2000 hrs, his data access will expire on 04-Oct-09 at 1959 hrs exactly.

  4. What happens if the data usage had exceeded the bundled data of 30MB, 200MB or 1GB?
    If your data usage has exceeded the bundled data, you will be charged the prevailing data rate at $0.005/KB.

  5. How do I extend the expiry date of the data package I have purchased?
    To extend the expiry of any data balance, you can buy another data package before the expiry of the current one.

    For example, if the customer activates a 30MB MaxMobile Value Prepaid package on 01-June-09 at 2000 hrs, the data access expiry date is 04-June-09 and before the expiry of his current package, he activated another 200MB package. His data access will be extended by another 72 hours or 3 days and will expire on 07-June-09 at 1959hrs.

  6. What is the maximum data balance I can have under MaxMobile Value Prepaid?
    During the MaxMobile Value Prepaid validity period, the maximum data balance allowed is 3GB in the Data account.
  7. What happens to the remaining data which have not been utilized after the expiry of the data package?
    Any unused data balance will be forfeited once the package expires.

  8. Can MaxMobile Value Prepaid packages be used while roaming?
    No, the packages cannot be used while roaming. If you have selected a MaxMobile Value Prepaid package while roaming, you will still be charged at the prevailing data roaming charges for any data downloaded.

    Likewise for all StarHub Prepaid services, we will not be able to refund any MaxMobile Value Prepaid packages activated before and during roaming.

  9. Before the expiry of my MaxMobile Value Prepaid package, will I be able to transfer the remaining data balance to another GREEN Prepaid number?
    No, you will not be able to transfer your data balance to another GREEN Prepaid number.

  10. How will I know when I am near exceeding the data usage of my MaxMobile Value Prepaid package?
    You will receive a SMS message alert which will warn you of your low data balance.

    Alternatively, you can check your data balance by keying *131# and press send/dial and select "9" to check your data balance.

  11. Would I be able to check the expiry date of my data package and how much data I have consumed?
    Yes, you can check the expiry date of your data package and data balances by keying *131# and press send/dial, select "9" to check your data package expiry date and data balance.

Activation of MaxMobile Value Prepaid on GREEN Prepaid SIM cards

  1. What do I need in order to activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid on my GREEN Prepaid SIM card?
    To activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid, you would need a GREEN Prepaid SIM card and a mobile handset which can be connected to the Internet.

    You can purchase a GREEN Prepaid SIM Card from any StarHub shops and all Exclusive Partner outlets.

  2. How do I activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid?
    To activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid, simply key in *131# and press send/dial. You will receive a response on your phone.  Thereafter simply follow the step-by-step instructions on-screen to activate the MaxMobile Value Prepaid data package you want.  
  3. My mobile handset has web connectivity function, however it’s not GPRS-enabled yet. Can I still activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid?
    Yes, you can. Once you key *131# to activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid, GPRS will be enabled at the same time.

  4. I have tried to activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid. However, I received a message “Sorry, you are not allowed to activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid. To activate, please purchase a GREEN Prepaid SIM Card”. What does it mean?
    This means you are not using a GREEN Prepaid SIM card to activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid. In order to enjoy MaxMobile Value Prepaid, you will need a mobile handset which can be connected to the internet and a GREEN Prepaid SIM card which can be purchased at any StarHub shops and Exclusive Partner outlets.

  5. I have been a GREEN Prepaid customer and am holding onto a 2G GREEN Prepaid SIM Card. How can I enjoy better data access after activating MaxMobile Value Prepaid?
    You can purchase a new 3G GREEN Prepaid SIM card which provide up to 7.2Mbps for its download speed and up to 1.9Mbps for its upload speed.

    No, the MaxMobile Prepaid SIM card cannot be used to activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid. In order to activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid, you would need a GREEN Prepaid SIM card which can be purchased at any StarHub shops and Exclusive Partner outlets.

  2. I am using the Courts 123 Smart Plan. Can I activate MaxMobile Value Prepaid?
    Yes, you can. If you are on Courts 123 Smart Plan and have activated a MaxMobile Value Prepaid data package before you have fully utilised your free data of 1MB (worth $5), your data usage will be deducted from the MaxMobile Value Prepaid data package first which will expire in 24 hours.

    Once the data within the data package has been fully utilised, any subsequent data usage will be deducted from the free data of 1MB which will expire in 30 days.
