    This is a new MaxOnline price plan at $35.31. It gives you combined download speeds of up to 3Mbps and upload speeds of 512Kbps.

    We would like to give our customers more choices depending on their broadband needs. MaxOnline Basic will cater to you if you want a no frills and affordable broadband plan as well as the convenience of monthly subscription and unlimited access.

  2. Will customers with the HubStation and are currently enjoying the free 1Mbps broadband access get a download speed upgrade to 3Mbps?

    No, MaxOnline Basic is a subscritpion-based plan.

  3. How different is MaxOnline Basic compared to the rest of the MaxOnline monthly access plans?

    MaxOnline Basic caters to customers who access the Internet for low bandwidth intensive activities like checking emails and light surfing. As such it is priced affordably at $35.31.

  4. Can I enjoy free speed boost at partner sites for MaxOnline Basic?

    No you will not enjoy this benefit. If you like to enjoy free speed boost, we recommend that you sign up for MaxOnline Express or MaxOnline Premium.

  5. I would like to subscribe to MaxOnline Basic for my children's usage. Will I be able to add on SafeSurf as a Value-added Service? How much will it cost?

    Yes you can subscribe to SafeSurf at a monthly rate of $2.68.

  6. Can I sign up to StarHub Wireless Broadband service if I sign up to MaxOnline Basic?

    Yes you can.

  7. Can I sign up for Online Storage if I subscribe to MaxOnline Basic?

    Yes you can.

  8. I do a fair bit of downloading and e-shopping from the web and am interested to sign up for MaxOnline Basic. Will StarHub recommend it?

    This plan will be suitable for you if you usually engage in light downloading and e-shopping. But bear in mind that this is only a 3Mbps plan, so if your Internet habits changes, you may want to consider upgrading to other MaxOnline plans which offer higher bandwidth.

  9. I am a light Internet user who occasionally checks mails, is this plan suitable for me?

    Yes if you use it to check your emails only occasionally.

  10. How do I sign up for MaxOnline Basic?

    You can sign up for the plan at any StarHub retail outlet, call 1630 or visit the StarHub Online Shop.

  11. Will I be eligible for Hub Club discounts if I sign up for MaxOnline Basic?

    Yes, you will be eligible for Hub Club discounts.

  12. Will I be eligible for Rewards points if I sign up for MaxOnline Basic?

  1. Who is eligible to sign up for MaxOnline Basic?

    MaxOnline Basic is available to all Singapore residential customers.

  2. Can I enjoy free Digital Voiceservice on MaxOnline Basic?

    Yes, free Digital Voice service will be extended to MaxOnline Basic customers.
    Do note that each customer is only eligible for a single complimentary Digital Voice Home service per service address (comprising of the waiver of the monthly subscription fee of $10.49), regardless of the number of MaxOnline/MaxInfinity/StarHub TV services subscribed.

  3. Besides the monthly subscription, are there other charges for MaxOnline Basic?

    Other service related charges include Service Activation Fees at $32.10, Installation Fee (per computer connection) at $53.50, If a service call (per computer connection) is required, it will be chargeable at $53.50, Delivery Fee (per trip to same service address) at $12.84 and a Service Early Termination Charge (if subscriptionis less than 6 months at $32.10.

  4. I am currently a Digital Voice customer using StarHub's voice-enabled cable modem (VeCM). If I sign up to a MaxOnline Basic access plan, do I need to purchase another cable modem?

    The VeCM you are currently using can be used to access both broadband Internet and Digital Voice, so you can use it to connect to MaxOnline as well. As such, there is no need for you to purchase a cable modem.

    All you need to do is to sign up for MaxOnline Basic by calling our Subscription Sales Hotline at 1630. We will need to verify the HFC Mac ID of your VeCM in order to activate it.

  5. I have purchased a new cable modem to access MaxOnline Basic. I would now like to sign up for Digital Voice. Can I use the same cable modem to do so?

    The cable modem you have purchased can only be used for broadband Internet access. To enjoy StarHub's Digital Voice service, you'll need a voice-enabled cable modem (VeCM) which supports both Digital Voice as well as broadband Internet access.

  6. Can I redeem for MaxOnline Basic monthly subscription by using my reward points?

    Yes, you can.

  7. If I sign up for a MaxOnline Basic promotion that offers a free cable modem, can I exchange it for a voice-enabled cable modem or 100Mbps-ready cable modem?

    Yes, you can. But you will need to top-up the relevant outstanding amount since both the voice-enabled cable modem and 100Mbps-ready cable modem have higher retail values.

  8. I am currently a MaxOnline Value/MaxOnline Express/MaxOnline Premium/MaxOnline Ultimate customer without any contract. Can I downgrade to MaxOnline Basic?

    Yes, you can. But do note that once you downgrade to MaxOnline Basic, you will not be able to enjoy Free Value-added Services (i.View and/or SafeSurf), speed boost at partner sites and home networking. Therefore, we recommend that you stay on your current MaxOnline plans.

  9. I am currently a MaxOnline Value/MaxOnline Express/MaxOnline Premium/MaxOnline Ultimate customer on a promotional contract with a minimum subscription period to be fulfilled. Can I downgrade to MaxOnline Basic?

    No, you cannot downgrade to MaxOnline Basic now as you are on a promotional contract. If you do, you will need to pay the relevant Early Termination Charge.

  10. I am currently a Digital Voice customer. Can I sign up for MaxOnline Basic promotion?

    Yes, you can. However, if your Digital Voice Home is currently under a contract, you will not be able to enjoy free Digital Voice Home under MaxOnline Basic until after the contractual period.

  11. I already have a cable modem. Can I exchange the free cable modem which comes with the MaxOnline Basic promotion for something else?

    Yes, you can exchange the free cable modem for 3000 StarHub Reward points.

  12. I am an existing MaxOnline FlexiSurf customers. Can I sign up for MaxOnline Basic?

    Yes, you can.

  13. Will I be eligible for Hubber Bonus?

    Yes.

  14. Will I be eligible for the 50% off MaxMobile Ultimate promotion?

  3. Can I use MaxOnline Basic for home networking?

    We would not recommend this. If you would like to share the broadband access among multiple PCs, we recommend that you sign up for other MaxOnline plans which offers higher bandwidth.

  4. Why are you recommending wired connections, it is so inconvenient?

    This is to ensure optimum Internet experience since MaxOnline Basic only offers download speeds of up to 3Mbps.

  5. I am a Cable TV Sports Group customer, why am I not able to access StarHub TV Online Channels on MaxOnline Basic?

    Due to the bandwidth needed for smooth streaming of content, StarHub TV Online Channels is best recommended on other MaxOnline plans that offers higher bandwidth.

  6. Is it advisable to stream video content via MaxOnline Basic?

    Yes it is possible as long as the combined bandwidth is up to 3Mbps.

  7. I have tried MaxOnline Basic and speed is just too slow. What can I do?

    StarHub has different plans to cater to different broadband needs. MaxOnline Basic caters to customers who wants a no frills and affordable broadband plan for low bandwidth intensive activities on the Internet. However, if you engage in activities like home networking/gaming/voice calls over the Internet, we will recommend that you sign up for other MaxOnline plans that offer higher bandwidth.

  8. I already have a wireless router at home, does it mean that I will not be able to enjoy wirless connection via my router?

    For optimum Internet experience at 3Mbps, we’ll recommend that you go on a wired connection.

  9. Am I able to maximise my broadband speed with MaxOnline Basic since it is just a 3Mbps plan, while most wireless routers are capable of speeds of up to 12Mbps?

    You will be restricted by your access plan speed. Please note that a variety of factors affect download and upload speeds. i.e. server bandwidth or bandwidth load balancing over at the destination. Transient conditions will affect the overall speeds.

  10. Is there going to be any difference in speeds between connecting the cable modem via the Ethernet Card as compared to the USB port?

    No, there are no differences.

  11. Can I engage in home networking on MaxOnline Basic?

    We do not recommend this since higher bandwidth might be needed for multiple users. For optimal performance when setting up a home network, we recommend subscribing to other MaxOnline plans which offer higher bandwidth.

  12. If I do not intent to set up a home network, can I surf wirelessly on MaxOnline Basic?

    Yes you can but StarHub still recommend a wired connection for a better surfing experience.
