So what’s upgrade?

You can now upgrade your StarHub service at any time during your contract. As long as you’re taking a step up from your current subscription or jumping from single to multiple services, you no longer have to wait until you’re able to recontract.

Your contract will reset the moment you upgrade and charges will still apply for devices, where applicable. These can include up-to-date fibre-compatible routers and the latest set-top boxes, which are needed to provide you with the best possible service experience.

We understand that your family needs and digital habits are always changing. As such, we’re happy to share that you’re eligible to upgrade in any of these 3 ways:

Bandwidth upgrade

If you switch to a higher fibre broadband bandwidth! This way, you can cut down on lag during your favourite online activities.

E.g. 1: You can upgrade from 100Mbps Fibre Broadband to 1Gbps Fibre Broadband.
E.g. 2: You can upgrade from HomeHub 200 to HomeHub 500.
E.g. 3: You can upgrade from HomeHub Go 200 to HomeHub Go 500.1

Fibre Upgrade

If you make the jump from cable to fibre broadband! Fibre broadband’s the way to go, as applications like high-definition TV, video conferencing and online gaming require ever bigger amounts of bandwidth. StarHub Fibre Broadband also lets you enjoy the future of entertainment – StarHub Fibre TV!

E.g.: You can upgrade from 100Mbps Cable Broadband to 100Mbps Fibre Broadband.

Upgrade to multiple services

If you move from a TV or broadband plan to any Hubbing bundle. This is possible even if your plan comes with a discount or free subscription for a limited number of months!

E.g. 1: You can upgrade from StarHub TV to HomeHub 200.
E.g. 2: You can upgrade from 100Mbps Fibre Broadband with FREE 6-month subscription to HomeHub 500.

And if you’re currently on HomeHub, you can add a new or existing mobile line to form a HomeHub Go bundle2! This way, you can surf happy with a 7GB mobile plan while you continue to enjoy the benefits of multiple services!

E.g.: You can upgrade from HomeHub 1000 to HomeHub Go 500.

Of course, to enjoy our upgrade privilege, the new plan you’ve chosen must be ser-viceable at your address of choice. And you must be an eligible StarHub customer with no outstanding bills with us.

Why can’t I upgrade?

Upgrade is meant to benefit customers who wish to step up from their current subscription at any time. As such, there are exceptions to the 3 types of upgrade:

1. You cannot upgrade from multiple services to a single service.

E.g.: You cannot upgrade from HomeHub 200 to 100Mbps Fibre Broadband.

2. You cannot upgrade from fibre to cable.

E.g.: You cannot upgrade from 100Mbps Fibre Broadband to 100Mbps Cable Broadband.

3. You cannot upgrade your Dual Broadband plan.

Regardless of what you choose, customers on Dual Broadband cannot upgrade. As Dual Broadband includes both cable and fibre broadband, changing the plan would mean you’ll have to cease either one of the broadband services. So why not continue to enjoy two superfast connections until your plan is due for recontract?

4. You cannot upgrade if you’re on a plan that’s bundled with a gadget.

Regardless of what you choose, customers on any plan with a gadget like a laptop or smartphone, cannot upgrade. You can only recontract after completing 21 months of your contract.

5. You cannot upgrade if you’re on a plan with “FREE x-month subscription".

Generally, customers on a plan with free subscription for a limited number of months, cannot upgrade. That’s because you’re already enjoying a better price with your existing plan! So you’ll have to wait until you can recontract to pick a new plan.

Exception 1: If you’re making a jump in your broadband plan from cable to fibre!

E.g.: You can upgrade from 100Mbps Cable Broadband with FREE 3-month subscription to 100Mbps Fibre Broadband.

Exception 2: If you’re upgrading your single service to any Hubbing bundle (multiple ser-vices)!

E.g.: You can upgrade from 1Gbps Fibre Broadband with FREE 3-month subscription to HomeHub 200.

6. 1Gbps Fibre Broadband customers can only upgrade to Dual Broadband or our Hubbing bundles.

If you’re currently on the 1Gbps Fibre Broadband plan, you can only upgrade to Dual Broadband or any of our Hubbing bundles. As you’re already on the highest fibre tier, why not consider the savings and extra value that come with HomeHub or HomeHub Go's multiple services?

1To upgrade your current HomeHub Go bundle:

  • You must move to a HomeHub Go bundle with a higher bandwidth
  • Your existing HomeHub Go Mobile line must have fulfilled at least 13 months of its contract

2To add an existing mobile line into a new HomeHub Go bundle, your line must:

  • be on a StarHub Mobile plan
  • have fulfilled at least 13 months of its contract
