Switch from the land of fire and ice to sunny Florida and you’ll discover the sports dramedy Ballers, which is returning for a second season. This is not surprising, given HBO’s statement that the premiere episode was watched by nearly nine million viewers across multiple platforms. In fact, the Miami-based series is such a huge hit that the network committed to a second season before the first one even wrapped up. The show’s success is due in no small part to main man Dwayne Johnson, perfectly cast as Spencer Strasmore, a retired NFL player turned financial manager.

Premieres 18 July. Catch this every Monday at 10 a.m. (same time as the U.S.), or same day encore at 10 p.m. on HBO (StarHub TV Ch 601). Alternatively, watch it at your convenience on HBO On Demand (Ch 602).
