- What is HomeConnect?
HomeConnect, StarHub's prepaid international calling card that gives you the freedom to call overseas from any local phone in Singapore and also, the convenience of calling back to Singapore when you are overseas.
In additional, this card can also be used to make local calls in Singapore.
- What are the denominations available on HomeConnect card?
HomeConnect card comes in only $10 denomination.

The cards can be purchased at StarHub Shops, 7-Eleven and Cheers outlets islandwide.

- What is the difference between IDD 008 and IDD 018?
Both IDD 008 and IDD 018 are StarHub's international service that allow you to call overseas. IDD 008 is a premium international call service, whereas IDD 018 is a more affordable call service at reasonable voice quality. When making a call, there will be a voice message that will prompt you to select either IDD 008 or IDD 018.
- What are the call rates?
Your overseas calls made from Singapore, your choice of option 1, 2, or 3 will be charged based on published rates of StarHub IDD 008 rates, IDD 018 or promotional rates respectively.
For calls made from overseas back to Singapore, you'll be charged based on IDD 008 published rates. Do check out the promotional website for special rates that may apply at times.
Local calls are charged at $0.10 per min.
Kindly note that for the use of HomeConnect on SingTel and StarHub Payphones via the"1884" access number, an additional $0.10/min and $0.06/min Payphone Access Charge applies respectively. $0.06/min Payphone Access Charge is applicable for the use of HomeConnect on FirstComm Payphone as well. The charge will be deducted from your remaining card credit.

- What are the countries I can call to ?
With IDD 008 and IDD 018, you'll have global coverage.
- Which telephones can I call from?
When making an overseas call from Singapore, you can dial 1884 from any fixed line, mobile or payphone. If you're calling from a payphone, please do not insert the card into the payphone. Kindly note that a Payphone Access Charge (refer to Q10 for more information) applies for the use of 1884 from SingTel, StarHub and FirstComm Payphones.
Alternatively, you can also dial 6820 1884 from any fixed line, mobile or payphone where local call charges apply.
- Why do I have to pay a Payphone Access Charge for using 1884 on SingTel and/or StarHub payphones?
The Payphone Access Charge (PAC) is a payphone surcharge for the use of "1884" number from SingTel, StarHub and FirstComm Payphones.
For the convenience of our HomeConnect users who might want to call from SingTel payphones without having the need to insert in coins/using SingTel Phonecard, the "1884" access code will be made available.
The PAC, together with the overseas call charges will be deducted from the HomeConnect card value directly.
- What other calling options are available?
Alternatively, you can use HomeConnect card and call IDD 015 using StarHub Phonecard on StarHub Payphones.
In this case, you will not need to pay for the PAC nor any local call charges. You will only be charged for the overseas call charges incurred.
Alternatively, you can still dial “6820 1884 on any payphone. However, local call charges will apply and payment can be made by using coins or phonecards.
- How do I make a call?
Calling from Singapore:
- Dial 1884 or 68201884
- Enter card number
- For IDD 008, press 1. Then enter country code, area code, telephone number followed by the "#" key
- For IDD 018, press 2. Then enter country code, area code, telephone number followed by the "#" key
- For special promotions, press 3. Then enter country code, area code, telephone number followed by the "#" key
- Dial the country access number of the country you are in
- Enter card number, followed by the "#" key
- To make a call to Singapore, press 1
- Enter telephone number, followed by the "#" key
NOTE: The caller number displayed will be reflected as 68205261.
- How do I know my card balance?
Once you have entered your card number, there will be an announcement of your remaining card balance available for you to make your overseas call.
- Will I know how long the call can last?
Yes, there will be an announcement of the amount of time for you to make your call to the destination you are calling to, based on the remaining card value. You will hear this announcement after you have entered the telephone number of the party you are calling.
- Is there an expiry date?
Yes, there is an expiry date for every card and it is printed on the back of the card. After the expiry date, the card can no longer be used and there will be no refund for any unused card balance.
You can also get the expiry date of the card by dialing the following:
- From Singapore: Dial 1884 or 6820 1884 or
- From Overseas: Dial the access number of the country you are calling from
- Enter 14-digit card number
- Press 5 for Feature Selection
- Press 3 for Card Expiry
- Can the card be topped up?
You can top up the card value by purchasing another $10 HomeConnect card and using the Card Merging feature (refer to Q18) to transfer the new card value to the existing card. - How do I use the Card Merging Feature to top up the value on my card?
With a special feature called Card Merging, you can just purchase another $10 HomeConnect card and transfer the remaining value to your new card. You can do this by calling the voice system and follow the instructions stated below:
- From Singapore: Dial 1884 or 6820 1884 or
- From Overseas: Dial the access number of the country you are calling from
- Enter 14-digit card number
- Press 5 for Feature Selection
- Press 3 for Card Expiry
- Enter the number of the card which you wish to transfer value from.
- Can I ask for refunds if the remaining value is unused?
- What if my card is faulty?
Please contact StarHub's Customer Care at 1633 or bring the card to any StarHub Shops for assistance. External dealers and retailers will not be able to exchange faulty cards.
