SMS via Internet

  1. What is SMS via Internet?
    StarHub Mobile post-paid customers can use this service to send SMS to any mobile recipients in Singapore including other mobile subscribers of the overseas network operators around the world (refer to the list of destinations/operators).
  2. Can I use SMS via Internet to send a Group SMS?
    Yes, you can use it to send SMS to a maximum of 60 mobile recipients. You can even define your Group contacts in the Group SMS address book first and key in the Group name in the "To:" section to send your SMS online, without keying in the group of mobile phone numbers individually.
  3. How do I send a Global SMS?
    You can either insert the international mobile number stored in your Address Book or key in the international mobile number into the "To:" column yourself. You can even make use of the "To send Global SMS, click here" link to help you find the country code applicable to your intended recipient.
  4. Is there a difference in the charges between sending SMS via the website and via the mobile phone?
    No. SMS sent via the website (to a local mobile phone number) is part of your free bundled SMS. If the additional SMS exceeds the allocated free SMS, each local SMS sent out will be chargeable at 5.35 cents each. SMS sent via the website to an international/overseas mobile phone number is chargeable at 15 cents each.
  5. If I send SMS via the website, will my friends know that the SMS is from me?
    Yes, provided your name and mobile phone number is already stored in his/her phonebook on the SIM card or mobile phone. Otherwise, your mobile phone number will be shown in the SMS as the sender.
  6. If I send a Global SMS via the website to an overseas mobile phone number, will it be part of the free bundled SMS?
    No. Each Global SMS sent is 15 cents and it will not be part of the free bundled SMS.
  7. Can I enter an international mobile phone number as part of a Group with the other local mobile phone numbers?
    Yes. Please note that the SMS sent to the international mobile phone numbers in a Group will be will be chargeable at 15 cents each. SMS sent to local mobile phone numbers within a Group will be chargeable at 5.35 cents each.
  8. Will I be charged for the Global SMS sent via the website to the international/overseas mobile phone number even if the recipient did not receive my SMS eventually?
    Yes. The charge of 15 cents per Global SMS is still applicable. StarHub will send your SMS from Singapore to the respective overseas destination but cannot guarantee the receipt of that SMS by the recipient as this is controlled by the overseas network operator. Do refer to the list of the destinations/operators to check if your overseas recipient is a mobile subscriber of any of the network operators listed.
