  • StarHub started expansion and upgrade of its 3.5G mobile network to deliver unparalleled mobile surfing experience and improved indoor and outdoor coverage.
  • StarHub, the Singapore carrier of the Asia-America submarine cable system, celebrated the landing of the cable in Singapore.

August

  • StarHub offered unprecedented Beijing 2008 Olympic Games coverage, including six dedicated channels via cable TV and mobile, and HD coverage via MediaCorp- HD5.
  • StarHub launched Demand TV, comprising both On Demand Channels and true Video-on-Demand services, allowing viewers to enjoy instant access to content at advanced windows.

2007 Milestones

January

  • StarHub customers enjoy free wireless broadband access at all StarHub hotspots in Singapore. They can also get free access to Wireless@SG services through a Memorandum of Understanding reached between StarHub and QMax Communications.
  • StarHub launched Southeast Asia's first commercial High Definition Television service.

July

  • StarHub launches HubStation, an integrated device that enables consumers to watch, surf and talk, all at the same time.

August

  • StarHub to launch fastest two-way High-Speed Packet Access Service (HSPA) nationwide.

September

  • StarHub commercially launches pfingo, the innovative new mobile Internet service suite.

October

  • StarHub and EZ-Link launch Near-Field Communications (NFC) phone trial.
  • StarHub launches HubStation FlexiWatch, a new prepaid cable TV service that allows non-cable TV customers to subscribe to an exciting line-up of channels and pay only for the duration for which they wish to enjoy the channels.

  • Singapore became the first country in the world to commercially launch 100Mbps (MaxOnline Ultimate) residential broadband services nation-wide, as StarHub marks another milestone with its deployment of DOCSIS 3.0 technology
  • StarHub bumped up the download speeds for MaxOnline 4000 and MaxOnline 6000 plans, from 4Mbps to 6Mbps and from 6.5Mbps to 12Mbps respectively. MaxOnline 4000 has been renamed MaxOnline Express and MaxOnline 6500, MaxOnline Premium
  • Official launch of Conexus Mobile Alliance, Asia's largest alliance of mobile operators, of which StarHub is founding member, has a coverage footprint to over 130 million mobile subscribers in nine countries and regions

  • StarHub and NTT DoCoMo form exclusive strategic partnership for i-mode in Singapore
  • StarHub introduced Digital Terrestrial Television (DTTV) system which offers better quality service and a compelling selection of cable TV channels for corporate customers

April

  • StarHub launched 3G services and introduced a broad portfolio of mobile video content over its 2G and 3G mobile platforms
  • StarHub launched MaxOnline Ultimate, the highest download speed available for residential broadband access plan in Singapore, at up to 25 Mbps

  • StarHub launched Demand TV, Singapore's first near video-on-demand service on television

  • StarHub has been included in the FTSE/ASEAN Index that has 180 constituents and will be the benchmark for the five South East Asian financial markets - Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand

  • StarHub was the first in Singapore to launch an MMS/SMS channel named HubTV (StarHub CableTV, Channel 26)

  • StarHub initiated the Wireless Broadband Alliance, aimed at driving wireless broadband adoption around the world. The Alliance has 18 members as at end 2003

  • StarHub and Satelindo reached an agreement to market and sell StarHub Tier-One Global IP Transit Services in Indonesia

May

  • StarHub was the first in Singapore to commercially launch BlackBerry, the world's leading secure wireless email platform

June

  • StarHub and Indosat announced a major tie-up aimed at improving enterprise-wide data services and connectivity for companies in Singapore and Indonesia. A direct IPLC link between Singapore, Batam and Bintan was launched as a maiden project

August

  • StarHub was the first in Singapore to offer free IDD 018 calls to China, Hong Kong and the United States, in addition to Malaysia, made to both fixed and mobile lines in these destinations

  • StarHub has appointed Nokia as its 3G network vendor in Singapore
