Singapore, 15 July 2014 – From 21 July, StarHub will serve up a good dose of laughter for its customers with the launch of Hindi Channel, SAB TV (StarHub TV Channel 163), India’s only channel dedicated to comedies. In addition to catching laugh-a-minute linear programming from SAB TV, audiences in Singapore will also be among the world’s first to enjoy SAB TV content at their convenience, as StarHub launches SAB TV On Demand (StarHub TV Channel 164) on the same day.
SAB TV, India’s prime comedy channel, is owned by Multi Screen Media, a subsidiary network of Sony Entertainment Television. Famed for its family-friendly entertainment, SAB TV will now offer audiences in Singapore many side-splitting programmes in Hindi, across genres such as drama series, variety shows and movies. Its On Demand channel will showcase 20 hours of SAB TV’s best picks, with 10 hours of fresh content injected every month.
Upcoming key programmes on SAB TV which will have everyone in the family laughing in stitches include: Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah, an award-winning sitcom about the day-to-day life of members in a housing society in Mumbai, also voted India’s number one comedy show; Lapataganj, a satire aimed at Indian society, politics and leaders through a fictionalised village called Lapatagani; F.I.R, a hilarious comedy featuring a female inspector and her funny sidekick; and Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai, a rib-tickling family entertainer featuring the best comedians housed together in Bungalow number 5.
