-International titles in original languages added to StarHub’s movie offerings-

Singapore, 1 March 2012 – Movie buffs and discerning movie fans will have more reasons to stay home for their dose of movie entertainment when StarHub launches CinemaWorld Pack on 9 March 2012. CinemaWorld Pack comprises three channels - CinemaWorld (Channel 613), CinemaWorld HD1 (Channel 667), CinemaWorld On Demand2 (Channel 614).

The three round-the-clock channels feature movies around the world spanning from Spain to India. This complements StarHub’s existing library of extensive movie channels which feature mostly movies made in Hollywood and Hong Kong. Offering commercial-free uninterrupted viewing, CinemaWorld Pack offers award-winning films by internationally-acclaimed directors, producers and cast, and covers blockbusters, thrillers, action flicks, horror films, comedies, romance and family-friendly movies.  Some titles viewers can look forward to are, Spain’s The Longest Penalty Shot in the World which was the Top Spanish Movie in 2005, and India’s award-winning movie Firaaq.

All movies in CinemaWorld Pack are aired in its original languages with English subtitles. CinemaWorld will showcase the content in standard definition, while the simulcast CinemaWorld HD1 will deliver them in high definition quality.  To give customers more flexibility in their viewing times, CinemaWorld On Demand2 offers convenient access to viewers of up to 50 international movie titles. With CinemaWorld On Demand2, viewers can also be assured of getting the freshest and most updated titles as there will be a rejuvenation of 15 titles every month.

“We are confident that this new partnership with CinemaWorld will be well-received. Our audience are increasingly well-travelled and sophisticated, and they may yearn to have easy access to a wider range of content.  The addition of CinemaWorld Pack will offer these subscribers an excellent alternative and a fantastic movie experience”, said Ms Iris Wee, StarHub's Vice President of Home Solutions & Content.

Ms Quek, co-founder and CEO of CinemaWorld added: “With globalisation, language and cultural differences are no longer barriers to appreciating a good commercial movie. The recent popularity of the French-made movie The Artist has shown that a good non-Hollywood movie can cross boundaries to be an international success. Stars like Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem from Spain, Shah Rukh Khan from India and Jean Dujardin from France are also recognised outside their own countries.’’

Existing StarHub TV customers can add CinemaWorld Pack for a monthly subscription of $8.56 (including GST), while new customers can take on the channel upon subscription to at least three Basic Groups. Those who sign up for CinemaWorld Pack by 31 May 2012 will enjoy a 50 per cent off the pack’s subscription fee for three months. StarHub TV customers can also choose to purchase via Instant Buy2 on their remote control by tuning in to channel 613 and pressing the blue button.

From 6am on 9 March until 6.20am on 23 March 2012, all StarHub TV customers can visit channels 613 and 667 for free preview on CinemaWorld and CinemaWorld HD1. For more information on StarHub TV, the new channels or the free preview, visit www.starhub.com/tv.
