Singapore, 4 December 2012 – StarHub, with the help of its creative agency DDB Group Singapore, took home the Brand Of The Year Award at the annual Singapore Advertising Hall Of Fame Awards, an event that recognises and celebrates excellence, outstanding achievements, and breakthrough ideas in creative communications.

In what industry experts deem to be a challenging year, StarHub made impactful use of its marketing budget, and saw profitable returns on its marketing spend by creating a vintage year for the brand in terms of marketing innovation. Some of the marketing initiatives that have won the heart of the judges include LionsXll LIVE Mobile App and TV Anywhere service.

“We are thrilled to be named Brand of the Year at the Singapore Advertising Hall of Fame Awards. It is of particular significance since we have been recognised from amongst well-established brands in Singapore, as a result of the ingenuity and creative minds of the StarHub marketing and marketing communications teams,” said Mr Neil Montefiore, CEO of StarHub.

"StarHub and DDB show an exceptional partnership in marketing, which brings out the best in our people and our teaming - you can feel the vigour and energy in the work. It's become the hallmark for client and agency collaboration. We are thrilled for StarHub to be Brand of the Year, just as they and many of our clients have helped DDB to be the Agency of the Year. We are enormously grateful," commented Mr David Tang, CEO of DDB Group Singapore.

Also, StarHub added to its tally of wins by bagging the Product Innovation Of The Year Award. The winning entry, Birds & The Bees 2.0 for StarHub SafeSurf (Internet content filtering service), is a user-configurable Internet blockpage. This innovative content control service creates opportunities for parents to play an active role in informing their children about sex and the appropriate use of the Internet.
