Two ‘live’ matches over weekends on Football Channel

Singapore, 15 January 2010 – The Brazilian League (São Paulo Championship and Brazilian National Championship) will make its way to local screens for the first time ever as StarHub announced today that it has secured the exclusive broadcast rights to the league for the upcoming two seasons till 2011. This good news follows StarHub’s recent announcement that it will reward all cable TV customers with free access to two sports channels in 2010 and reduce its pricing for the Sports Group by more than 50 percent from July 2010.

The league runs from January to December and kicks off this weekend. StarHub will air a total of 82 ‘live’ Brazilian League 2010 matches for the coming year with two ‘live’ matches weekly on Football Channel (Channel 27) , whereby all StarHub TV Sports Group customers will be able to catch the action from hot Brazilian rising talents from the likes of Neymar, Paulo Henrique Ganso and Sandro, as well as familiar stars including Roberto Carlos , Ronaldo and Adriano (please refer to Appendix A for the schedule of the matches taking place this weekend).

Now, viewers who enjoy the exciting pace and style of Brazilian football no longer have to wait for international tournaments to soak in the action by the samba boys as they will be able to catch the Brazilian players in their element twice a week in the Brazilian League on Football Channel.”

Viewers can also look forward to additional Brazilian League programming on ‘FootBrazil’ - a half hour magazine show on Football Channel featuring the latest news on Football in Brazil. The show includes exclusive interviews, top goals and behind the scenes footage, as well as rundowns on team profiles, local championship cup tournament news, player profiles and team ratings.
