StarHub TV Extends Lead In Hindi Content With Launch Of COLORS

StarHub TV Brings Its Suite Of Complimentary Channels To Ten With Launch Of NHK World TV

Singapore, 15 December 2010 – Both local viewers and foreign expatriates alike will soon have two new channels to look forward to on StarHub TV by the end of this month. Starting 31 December 2010, the latest members of the StarHub TV’s line-up of channels will be COLORS and NHK World TV.

COLORS (StarHub TV Channel 128), one of the top three most popular Hindi entertainment channels in India, offers a wide range of shows, ranging from international reality shows to blockbuster Bollywood movies. With the introduction of COLORS on StarHub TV, it will extend its lead in Hindi content in Singapore[1]. COLORS’ differentiated fictions within its storylines have attracted high viewership. Some key titles that viewers can expect on COLORS are “Uttaran”, “Na Aana Is Des Laado”, “Laagi Tujhse Lagan” and “Balika Vadhu – Kacchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte”. To cater to viewers’ tastes, upcoming localised versions of reality programmes “Got Talent” and “Fear Factor” will also be made available for viewers to quench their thirst for reality TV programmes.

NHK World TV (StarHub TV Channel 148) provides viewers with a wide variety of programming including news and lifestyle shows in English from all over the world, mainly from Japan. Some key programmes viewers can expect on the channel include “Newsline”, “Tokyo Fashion Express”, “J-Melo” and “Asia Biz Forecast”.

COLORS will initially be made available on a free preview basis to all StarHub TV subscribers on StarHub TV Channel 128 for over two weeks starting 31 December 2010 (0600hrs) to 16 January 2011. In addition, NHK World TV will join the suite of existing complimentary channels bringing the total number to 10[2].

COLORS will be priced at $8 a month ($8.56 with GST) and StarHub TV customers who wish to subscribe to COLORS may call 1630 or SMS COL <SPACE> NRIC to 76333 from 31 December 2010.

StarHub TV subscribers who wish to sign up to any Hindi or Tamil channels may sign on to the Indian Value Pack where a 25 percent discount will be given on any three add-on channels for a 12-month contract duration. This pack also comprises of a HD Interactive set-top box. Existing StarHub TV customers who wish to take on the Indian Value Pack may call 1630.
