Singapore, 3 August 2010 – Singapore will be celebrating her 45th birthday next week and to add more cheer to National Day celebrations, StarHub has lined up a series of special treats to reward its customers!

Three-day non-stop free viewing of over 140 channels only on StarHub TV

StarHub TV customers will get to enjoy free viewing of all StarHub TV channels from 7 August to 9 August 2010. During this three-day period, viewers can catch an extensive range of exciting content available on up to 140 StarHub TV channels [1].

Programme highlights include movies like Terminator Salvation, Hannah Montana The Movie, UP, 72家租客 (72 Tenants Of Prosperity); music events like iTunes Festival 2010 Part 1, 康熙盛典之温州站 (Kang Xi Concert Special – Wen Zhou); dramas like Nurse Jackie with eight Emmy Award nominations, lifestyle programmes like 大厨出马 (Apprentice Chef) and highly-rated ethnic series like Tasbih Cinta and Matahari.

  • Exclusive viewing of YOG lead-up programming

This year marks Singapore’s maiden effort in hosting the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) – an achievement which will no doubt be an important milestone in Singapore’s history. To create higher awareness of the YOG among Singaporeans, StarHub is offering customers an exclusive viewing of some games that will be featured in the YOG on Youth Sports Channel (StarHub TV Channel 241). The programming will be available from 9 August 2010 (6pm) to 13 August 2010 (11.59pm).

Customers will be able to view selected Asian Youth Games 2009 (Finals) matches and episodes from sports reality series - Game On! - featuring athletics, football, swimming, table tennis and FIBA 33, which is a brand new format of play (basketball) that caters to youths. The Youth Sports Channel will be available on all StarHub platforms - TV, Online and Mobile.

  • National Day promotion for KaraOK! Day Pass

StarHub customers can also purchase the KaraOK! Day Pass at a special rate of $2.14 (with GST) from 6 to 9 August 2010 [2]. With the KaraOK! Day Pass, StarHub customers can gather with their family and friends in the comfort of their homes and belt out a wide selection of popular songs and oldies by artistes such as Lady Gaga, Daniel Powter, Jay Chou, S.H.E, Abba and The Carpenters. In recognition of local talent during National Day, StarHub will introduce a song category – Singapore Special – which features songs by Singaporean artistes such as JJ Lin, Olivia Ong and Huang Jing Lun [3].

 

  • Enjoy 45% off selected movies and series on Demand TV and StarHub TV Online

In line with Singapore’s 45th birthday, StarHub is offering a 45% discount on selected movies and drama series available on Demand TV and StarHub TV Online for the month of August. Furthermore, to show StarHub’s support for made-in-Singapore productions, Demand TV and StarHub TV Online will feature award-winning Singaporean movies by local directors such as Kelvin Tong and Jack Neo.

Viewers can look forward to movies such as The Days (directed by Silver Screen Award winner Boi Kwong), City Sharks (Esan Sivalingam), Just Follow Law (Jack Neo) and Men In White (Kelvin Tong). Other programme highlights available include highly popular Indonesian drama - Cinta Fitri 3, English and Indonesian movies, TVB dramas and lifestyle programmes.
