Singapore, 30 April 2009 – Come 4 May 2009, StarHub TV customers using HubStation HD can look forward to catching their favourite TVB dramas in High Definition (HD) via Demand TV.

StarHub is one of the first pay TV operators in the world to offer TVB dramas in HD. The dramas will be available on Video-On-Demand, and customers can purchase and watch the programmes anytime they wish.

“We are excited to offer TVB dramas in HD to viewers in Singapore. This addition not only enhances our HD content offerings but also provides drama fans with the option to watch their favourite dramas in full HD splendour anytime they desire,” said Ms Ong Bee Lian, StarHub’s Head of Pay TV & Entertainment.

The titles that will be available from 4 May are The Gem of Life and The Master Of Tai Chi. The Gem Of Life is TVB’s 82-episode mega production starring A-Listers including Gigi Lai, Ada Choi, Maggie Siu, Moses Chan and Bowie Lam. It will premiere in two parts - the first 41 episodes will be made available from 4 May and the remaining episodes in June. Equally captivating, The Master of Tai Chi is a period drama which explores the topics of Tai Chi and stars Chiu Man Chuk, Raymond Lam and Myolie Wu. Viewers can preview the first episode of all titles for free, and catch subsequent episodes at a fee of $1.20 ($1.28 with GST) per episode.

To access TVB dramas in HD, customers simply need to press the “VOD” button on their remote control, select “TV Series” followed by “TVB Drama”, and thereafter, select the programme from the catalogue.

StarHub also offers a variety of linear HD content including HD5 (Ch 300), NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL HD (Ch 301), Discovery HD (Ch 302), History HD (Ch 303), Sports HD (Ch 304) and All Sports Network HD (Ch 305).

HubStation HD, which enables customers to access HD content – both linear and on-demand, is available to StarHub TV customers on a rental basis at $14 ($14.98 with GST) monthly. Besides accessing HD content, HubStation HD users will also be able to enjoy features and benefits such as being able to record HD programmes, control ‘live’ TV – the ability to pause and replay ‘live’ TV broadcast, and get free 1Mbps broadband Internet access [1] as well as StarHub’s Digital Voice service. To upgrade to HubStation HD, customers can bring their existing set-top boxes to any of our four Customer Service Centres [2] or call 1633 to arrange for an appointment.
