Singapore, 15 July 2008 - StarHub today announced the appointment of Miss Kathleen Syron as its new Head of Content with effect from September 2008. Miss Syron will report directly to StarHub's CEO, Mr Terry Clontz.
Miss Syron and her team will be responsible for leading StarHub's content strategy across all three of its platforms - Pay Television, Mobile and Online.
"Kathleen brings with her an impressive wealth of international experience in content management. Content acquisition and management, particularly for digital media assets, are becoming even more critical as convergence evolves towards anytime anywhere access to audio and video content," said Mr Clontz.
Miss Syron has over a decade of experience in content management. Prior to joining the StarHub team, she was the Director, Programming at Astro All Asia Networks Pic in Malaysia. Other previous positions held by Miss Syron included General Manager for APAC Region (Hong Kong) at TeleCommunications International Inc, and Vice President for Channel Operations (stationed in London) for Sony Pictures Entertainment/Columbia Tri-Star International Television. She was also formerly an independent Media Consultant for established international companies such as United Pan-Europe Communications, NV, Cablecom GmbH, FU-TV and Columbia Tri-Star International Television.
A graduate of Arts & International Relations from the University of Michigan, Miss Syron holds an MBA and a Master's degree in Arts & International Relations from The George Washington University. She is an American, and she is conversant in English, Mandarin and French.
