New channels added to StarHub Digital Cable’s ‘Family Plus’ tier and ‘Chinese Plus II’ group at no extra cost to customers
Viewers spoilt for choice as the number of channels offered by the pay-TV operator surges past the hundredth mark

Singapore, 30 January 2007 - StarHub today unveiled its plans to launch five new channels on 1 February 2007. Customers of StarHub Digital Cable’s ‘Family Plus’ tier will be able to enjoy two new channels – FX and CNN Headline News, while customers of the ‘Chinese Plus II’ group will receive three new channels – CHANNEL [V] MAINLAND CHINA, CHANNEL [V] TAIWAN and TTV World at no extra cost.

StarHub’s latest offerings will take the number of channels offered on its cable TV platform to a grand total of 102 channels! In addition, StarHub also offers 28 Demand TV channels. The largest pay-TV operator in Singapore launched its digital platform for cable TV services in May 2004, and since then, has more than doubled the number of channels offered.

‘Family Plus’ Tier - A Sparkling Deal With Something For Everyone!

With the additions of FX and CNN Headline News from 1 February, the ‘Family Plus’ tier will comprise 21 exciting channels. At S$12 (S$12.60 with 5% GST) monthly, it is also the most attractively priced tier among StarHub’s cable TV subscription offerings.

FX (Channel 87), packaged by FOX International Channels, is an entertainment channel dedicated to men that promises adrenaline pumping programmes ranging from extreme sports and adventure series like ‘Ride with the Funkmaster Flex’ and ‘Roller Jam’, to comedies like ‘Kenny Vs Spenny’ and ‘Son of the Beach’. Male viewers will also be delighted with edgy features on gadgets, technology, and gorgeous women, such as ‘Gumball Rally’ and ‘Bikini Destinations’.

CNN Headline News (Channel 93), packaged by Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, provides the broadest and most comprehensive scope of news from and about the U.S.A, and showcases a world of information – top news stories, including coverage on business, health, technology, weather, entertainment, the environment, sports and travel. ‘Chinese Plus II’ Group - Jazzing Up With Music And More!

With the additions of CHANNEL [V] MAINLAND CHINA, CHANNEL [V] TAIWAN and TTV World from 1 February, StarHub Digital Cable’s ‘Chinese Plus II’ group will comprise a total of six channels. The ‘Chinese Plus II’ group is priced at S$8 (S$8.40 with 5% GST) monthly.

CHANNEL [V] MAINLAND CHINA (Channel 101) and CHANNEL [V] TAIWAN (Channel 102) are Asia's trend-setting music channels featuring the latest chart-topping music videos, youth-related shows and exclusive interviews with popular stars from Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. Available round-the-clock to 21 million homes in China, Hong Kong, and now, Singapore, CHANNEL [V] MAINLAND CHINA offers a winning line-up of Chinese music programmes, including ‘13 Billion Db’, ‘[V] Live’, and ‘Chinese Top 20 Countdown’, as well as the annual ‘CHANNEL [V] Chinese Music Awards’, while CHANNEL [V] TAIWAN is synonymous with the hottest names and labels in the Taiwanese Mandopop industry, and features widely popular original youth programmes, including ‘Blackie's Teenage Club’, ‘Lollipop’ and ‘Fashion in House’.
