Singapore, 7 February 2007 - StarHub today announced that it has appointed Huawei Technologies to provide and support future upgrades of the company's 3G mobile network in Singapore, including StarHub's upcoming full HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access) service. The decision to select Huawei Technologies was primarily based on the strength of their progressive 3G technology roadmap. Huawei's technology and experience is expected to help StarHub deliver the full capabilities of HSDPA this year across the island, including an upgrade to 14.4Mbps by year end.

Mr David Storrie, Head of StarHub's Networks and Wholesale, said, "we have been impressed by Huawei's 3G technology roadmap, especially their ability to deliver next-generation wireless applications and services quickly. StarHub launched its 3G service in 2005 and at 3Q-2006 has 128,000 3G customers.
