Singapore, 10 February 2006 - In an effort to further boost the development of compelling content for all of its customers, StarHub, Singapore's integrated info-communications provider, today announces the formation of a dedicated content development team that is responsible for all cross- and multi-platform content deployment over cable TV, mobile and online.


The Content Team which was assembled in December 2005 and
comprises largely of individuals who were part of the Cable TV, Mobile and IP & Internet Services teams,will plan and execute content initiatives across all product lines. This move to streamline StarHub's content development initiatives is to enable StarHub to maintain its leadership in the delivery of content and to ensure that its customers can enjoy even more hubbing of its content offerings comprehensively across all its platforms.


"Content is a core element in our overall strategy and represents one of the key advantages that StarHub has in executing our Hubbing strategy. The formation of the Content Team represents a determined effort by StarHub to ensure that
our customers’ infotainment needs are satisfied and quality content is only a click away both at home and out of the home environment," said Mr Mike Reynolds, Head of Commercial, StarHub. "By bringing our content resources across the company into one central team, we will be able to further leverage on our expertise and experience, not to mention the strong, long-standing relationships with our internationally renowned content partners, to deliver content-rich services that cannot be matched by our competitors."

 

Ms Tham Loke Kheng, who is leading StarHub’s Marketing team, will also head the new Content Team. She has taken on the new title of Senior Vice President for Marketing and Content at StarHub.  "Loke Kheng has a depth of experience in the media and broadcast industry, ranging from programming to marketing in both free-to-air and pay TV markets. Together with her intimate knowledge of our customers and their info-comms needs, she is in an excellent position to further develop and execute our multi-platform content strategy," said Mr Reynolds.


With over 40 major cable TV channel partners and more than 250 content partners on mobile and online platforms working with StarHub, StarHub customers can expect an even more integrated content experience, whether they are at home watching cable TV and surfing the Internet, or accessing content over a 2G or 3G mobile phone whenever and wherever they are.
