64 games in 20 days over four channels

Singapore, 14 February 2005 - StarHub will launch Singapore’s first basketball Pay-Per-View (PPV) on 17 March 2005.  Offered on the cable TV operator’s digital platform, this PPV will include ‘live’ telecasts of 64 basketball games by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States.

StarHub Digital Cable’s latest PPV will take place for 20 days, until 5 April 2005.  Most of the ‘live’ games will be aired on Channel 110, while Channels 111, 112 and 113 will be reserved for times when there are more than one game being played.  The channels will also carry encore telecasts of the games to give customers more flexibility in their viewing schedules.

“We have always used our PPV for selected special interest sports programmes such as boxing and cricket. We are very excited to diversify our offering of sports PPVs, with the introduction of this college basketball package,” said Ms Sandie Lee, StarHub’s Senior Vice President, Cable TV Services.

Existing StarHub Digital Cable customers who are interested to subscribe to the NCAA Basketball PPV package can do so for a one-time fee of $75 ($78.75 with GST).  New customers can also add on the package after subscribing to a minimum of three StarHub Digital Cable Basic Groups.

As an incentive for early sign-ups of the NCAA PPV package, those who subscribe to the package before 7 March 2005 will enjoy a discounted rate of $64 ($67.20 with GST).
