Singapore, 5 December 2005 – The World Cupfever is set to soar only next year, but StarHub’s on-air promo, “2006 FIFA World CupÔ”, has already been raising the temperatures of soccer fans since June this year. Aired on SuperSports, ESPN and STAR Sports, the promo inspires viewers to tune in to StarHub Digital Cable, “where legends are born”. The artistic production clinched a Gold for Best Animation, and a Silver for Best On-Air Indent at the recent PROMAX&BDA Asia Awards 2005, bearing testament to the high standards of production quality that viewers can expect from StarHub.

 

The PROMAX&BDA Awards recognise excellence in promotions, marketing, and design of electronic media, and are regarded as the highest accolades for professionals in the electronic and broadcast media industry. The entries that were submitted for the awards were judged on overall creativity, production quality, and results in achieving marketing objectives.

 

The creative executionof StarHub’s winning on-air promo is based on the concept of hero worship. The captivating on-air promo features the graceful interaction between fantasy soccer players, who are portrayed as “legends”. Digital wizardrywas used to clothe the players in a luminous green bio-energy (StarHub’s corporate colour) that represents StarHub’s commitment to propel the action of the World Cup, and bring viewers closer to their football heroes.

StarHub’s self-packaged channel, SuperSports, had earlier bagged a total of five awards – one Gold and four Silvers, at the PROMAX&BDA World Awards at New York City in June this year, while StarHub and its channel partners garnered an outstanding 94 awards.
