StarHub Mobile, Cable TV, and MaxOnline Customers Can Also Experience Wireless Broadband Connectivity at Thousands of Hotspots in Singapore and Around the World

 

Singapore, 17 November 2004 - StarHub, Singapore's innovative info-communications provider today announces that from 1 December 2004, all StarHub mobile, cable TV, and MaxOnline customers will be able to enjoy unlimited public wireless broadband access at all StarHub-managed hotspots around Singapore for just S$10 a month (S$10.50 with GST).

 

With this new value-added feature, StarHub customers can check their emails, log onto their corporate networks and send large documents at broadband speeds island-wide wirelessly. StarHub customers can locate these hotspots in easy-to-recognise places such as Singapore Changi Airport, Suntec City and all The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf outlets in Singapore.

To enjoy the value-added service, StarHub Mobile, CableTV and MaxOnline customers can sign up online at www.starhub.com/wirelesshub   from 1 December 2004.

 

StarHub CableTV and MaxOnline customers will need to register for a Hub ID account in order to enjoy access to all StarHub's wireless broadband hotspots. StarHub Mobile customers may access the service using their Gee! ID and password.

 

Wireless Broadband Roaming at Partner Hotspots

In addition to unlimited wireless broadband access for StarHub customers at all StarHub-managed hotspots, customers will also be able to roam into hotspots managed by StarHub's partners. From December 2004, wireless broadband access at Bluengine and iCell hotspots will be available at $0.10 per minute.

 

Customers will also have the capability to roam internationally to over 10,000 hotspots around the world, through StarHub's wireless broadband roaming arrangements in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, UK and US. Using their own Hub ID / Gee! ID and password, StarHub customers will be able to have free access to international hotspots managed by BT Group (UK), Maxis (Malaysia), NTT Communications (Japan), T-Mobile USA and Telstra (Australia), through its participation in the Wireless Broadband Alliance. StarHub customers will be able to benefit from these international roaming arrangements at no additional charge through the remainder of 2004. International roaming in 2005 and beyond will be determined by StarHub soon.
