New Promotion Allows Digital Voice Customers To Enjoy Greater Savings On Their Fixed-line Phone Bills


Singapore, 19 August 2004 - StarHub Digital Voice customers have yet another hubbing benefit to reap as StarHub today announced the launch of the Near & Dear special hubbing feature.


From tomorrow, they can make free local outgoing calls to up to five StarHub mobile or Digital Voice numbers of their choice, and further save on their monthly Digital Voice phone bills.


To enjoy this exciting benefit, all Digital Voice users have to do is log on to the secured “My Account Manager” portal at, and nominate up to five StarHub mobile or Digital Voice numbers which they frequently dial from their Digital Voice line. At any time when they want to add or update the list of nominated numbers, they simply make the changes via the same portal.

Besides savings on local outgoing calls, Digital Voice customers who make frequent international calls to China, Hong Kong or the USA can subscribe to a value-added service - “Call IDD 018 Service” - and enjoy up to 200 minutes of free StarHub IDD 018 talktime. This service is available at $5 or $8 a month, depending on the selected IDD destination.


For overseas calls placed via StarHub IDD 018 service to other popular IDD destinations, Digital Voice users continue to enjoy Hubber rates, which are up to 74% cheaper than published IDD rates.


Digital Voice is StarHub's residential fixed-line phone service with value-for-money features such as:  

  • 300 minutes of free local outgoing call-time - For $9.80 ($10.29 with GST) per month, customers enjoy 300 minutes of free local call-time;
  • All-day flat usage rate - Beyond these free 300 minutes, the Digital Voice service will be charged at a single flat rate of $0.007 (0.7 cents) per minute all day long;
  • Per-second billing - Subscribers will be charged by the second of usage, instead of 30-second or 60-second usage blocks; and
  • Call-time rollover - Unused local call time can be ‘rolled over’ to the following month.
