Singapore, 21 June 2003 - StarHub is pleased to announce that it will be offering free Number Retention service for its existing and new Number Retention subscribers from tomorrow. This comes hot on the heels of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore's announcement that all local mobile operators will be providing free* Mobile Number Portability (MNP) come 1 August 2003. Singapore's MNP service is identical to the Number Retention service that StarHub has been offering since its launch in April 2000.
The only local operator to offer Caller Party Pays (Free Incoming local Calls), StarHub recognises the immediate benefits that MNP has for mobile customers. Customers' choice of operator should be based on the best value and service quality. As such, StarHub is quick to provide free MNP immediately. StarHub will absorb the monthly subscription fee of S$8 (before GST) for existing and new subscribers from tomorrow. It will also waive the one-time registration fee for all new customers who request for the Number Retention service from tomorrow for a limited period.
