Singapore, 15 December 2003 - Bloomberg Television, Asia's premier provider of financial news, has been selected by StarHub to join its first-rate line-up of international programming.

Commencing 30 December 2003, Bloomberg Television will broadcast 24 hours a day on StarHub CableTV Channel 25, as part of the World News Basic Group. The partnership brings Bloomberg Television's unique blend of local, regional and international financial news, information and analysis to StarHub CableTV's customers across Singapore.

Customers of StarHub CableTV's World News Basic Group will have access to Bloomberg Television's award-winning programmes at no extra charge.

"This year we've experienced tremendous growth throughout the Asia Pacific region. Our flagship programme, Moneycast Asia was the Best Business News Programme runner-up at this year's Asian Television Awards and anchor Catherine Yang won Best News Presenter for the third year running. This is a testament to the importance audiences are now placing on receiving up-to-date and in-depth global financial news," said Samantha Jones, Asia-Pacific Head of Distribution for Bloomberg Television.

"In Singapore, where fast and accurate financial information is crucial to its stature as a financial centre, it's important for professionals and keen retail investors to have equal access to breaking news and market analysis as do people in more than 200 million homes worldwide," said Ken Kohn, Executive Managing Editor of Bloomberg Television. "People can now follow the markets at home by tuning into Bloomberg Television's Emmy nominated programming on StarHub CableTV."

StarHub's Senior Vice-President of Cable TV services, Ms Sandie Lee said, "We are pleased to welcome Bloomberg Television on board as part of the World News Basic Group. Bloomberg Television and the other three news channels complement each other well in terms of their different emphases and coverage. Bloomberg Television is known for its ability to deliver hard-hitting financial news and commentaries which we believe our viewers will benefit greatly from."

Bloomberg Television is backed by the resources of the Bloomberg news service with its 1,700 editors and reporters in 105 news bureaus worldwide, and the technical analysis of the Bloomberg Professional Service.
