Offering ‘access anywhere’ and ‘encrypt anywhere’ features, the solution will provide enhanced security, strong service support and user convenience 

 

1 November 2000, Singapore -- StarHub Internet today announced the launched of its Managed IP-VPN solution targeted at corporations who need cost-effective managed solutions with ‘access anywhere’ and ‘encrypt anywhere’ Client/LAN-to-LAN connections.

 

"StarHub Internet’s Managed IP-VPN is a global solution for customers to outsource their VPN requirements to a Service Provider like StarHub Internet without having to shoulder the responsibility of procurement, commissioning, maintenance and management while retaining ownership and privacy of user lists," said Mr Kyong Yu, General Manager of StarHub Internet.

 

StarHub Internet’s Managed IP-VPN solution is currently available for deployment in over 20 countries worldwide, with more locations to be progressively added. This service is rolled out together with industry leaders, iPass, which provides the reliable dial-up roaming access service through its global network, and Intel, for the on-site customer support, installation and encryption technology of the NetStructure VPN hardware and software.

Through this collaboration, StarHub Internet will be able to offer VPN deployment and network management as well as on-site support on either a four-hour response or Next-Business-Day basis. The global-dial VPN capability provides access to corporate LANs and Intranets through the Internet from over 8000 Points-of-Presence (PoPs) in 150 countries with secure encryption of up to 168 bits. An easy-to-use ‘One-click’ automation tool further simplifies the remote dial-in process to allow immediate access without having to launch each function separately.
