25 February 2000, Singapore -- Over 180,000 registrants have signed up for StarHub Internet’s surf-for-free (SFF) offer since the introduction of this revolutionary internet access plan less than three months ago. This brings StarHub Internet even closer to achieving its first year target of signing up 200,000 registrants by December 2000.

Said Mr Tan Tong Hai, General Manager, StarHub Internet, "The response from the public has been tremendous and this is really a testament to our revolutionary offer. The consumer has clearly shown their willingness to accept such a bold and innovative offering. The number continues to grow and we’re confident that we will reach our first-year target very soon."

Having anticipated the tremendous market response, StarHub Internet has already been working closely with its partners Sun Microsystems and CISCO Systems to upgrade the brand-new infrastructure specially built for this service. This upgrading is part of StarHub Internet’s regular maintenance procedures to meet the demands of an increasing consumer base.

To thank all its users for their continuing support, StarHub Internet is organising a big ‘Surfing At The Park’ party on Saturday, 26 February, at Youth Park (opposite Orchard Cineleisure) to introduce new product offerings on SFF’s homepage (www.mystarhub.com.sg).

"We are pleased to bring our users new and exciting features such as Yahoo! Briefcase, Yahoo! Singapore Chat and movie trailers to make the mystarhub homepage experience even more enjoyable. We will also be streamlining the website soon to make access to information easier. This is the result of listening to feedback received from our users," added Mr Tan.

Yahoo! Briefcase is an online storage tool which offers users 10Mb of disk space to access and share files, documents and photos from any location. It even allows users to create photo albums to share with family and friends and will automatically register users with a full range of Yahoo! services.
