Terms & Conditions - SafeSurf Online


  1. All StarHub’s subscribers on Cable and Fibre Broadband service plans (“Users”) will be eligible for the SafeSurf Online service (the “Service”). The Service is not available to MaxOnline FlexiSurf subscribers.
  2. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to sign up for the Service.
  3. The monthly subscription of the Service is $2.68. All charges for the Service will be billed to the User’s StarHub Cable or Fibre Broadband account, as may be applicable.
  4. StarHub's in-house promotions and discounts are not applicable for the Service, unless otherwise specified by StarHub.
  5. Users acknowledge and agree that:
    1. No filtering service is 100% accurate. This Service is not a substitute for adult supervision. StarHub makes no warranty or representation that the Service is accurate, will filter out all inappropriate content, or that it is fit for its purpose; and
    2. The Service will not filter content for any traffic bypassing StarHub’s broadband network(s), including without limitation:
      1. Content not accessed over StarHub’s Cable or Fibre Broadband network;
      2. Content accessed over Wifi traffic;
      3. Content accessed via a device with a static Internet Protocol address; or
      4. Content accessed via a device on a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
    3. The Service will only support and filter Content on http and WML protocols (where the device using the WML protocol over a WiFi connection). Content on https and RTSP protocols will not be supported by this Service for content filtering.
    4. The Service will not be able to filter access to the content or applications that have already been downloaded to the PC or notebook prior to the commencement of this Service.
  6. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and Users agree that they use the Services at their sole risk. StarHub expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent allowed by law. No advice or information whether oral or written, obtained by User from StarHub or through the Service will create any warranty not expressly set out in this Agreement.
  7. StarHub will not be liable for any interruption, disruption to or deterioration in the quality, reliability or accuracy of the Service or for any technical issue that may arise by reason of the User’s use or inability to use the Service.
  8. Users are advised to back up all files and data in their computers before the installation of the Service. You acknowledge and agree that we will not be responsible for any corruption or deletion of your files arising from your installation and/or use of the Service.
  9. StarHub may at any time, without notice or liability to Users, restrict the use of the Service or limit its availability in order to perform maintenance activities for its services.
  10. All prices quoted are inclusive of GST.
  11. In the event that you terminate your Cable or Fibre Broadband Subscription, this Service will no longer be available to you. The information in your online account for the Service will also no longer be available from the date of termination of the Service. StarHub shall not be liable for any loss of data resulting from such termination.
  12. In addition to these Terms & Conditions, StarHub's General Terms & Conditions and Specific Terms & Conditions for Cable or Fibre Broadband Service (as applicable) will apply (collectively “Terms & Conditions”).
  13. StarHub reserve the right to amend the Terms & Conditions (including pricing) at any time without notice. Continued use of StarHub services and the Service will constitute acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and the amendments thereof.
