Terms & Conditions - Mobile Voice Plan

 

  1. General
    1. The use of the StarHub Mobile Services are subject to StarHub's Consumer General Terms & Conditions, Service Specific Terms & Conditions, and any other terms and conditions that you and we may have agreed to from time to time. You may view our terms and conditions at Legal Notices & Terms.
    2. From time to time, we may launch different mobile service voice plans under which we provide to you the StarHub Mobile Services and there are additional applicable terms and conditions specific to the mobile service voice plans, known as Specific Terms and Conditions for StarHub Mobile Voice Plans. These Specific Terms and Conditions for StarHub Mobile Service Voice Plans are applicable to the following StarHub Mobile Service Voice Plans:
      1. The 4G Plans including the 4G 300M, 4G 3, 4G 4, 4G5, 4G 6, 4G 12 mobile service voice plans;
      2. The SmartSurf HD Plans including the SmartSurf HD Value/Plus/Premium mobile service voice plans;
      3. The PowerValue and PowerTalk Ultimate Plans
      4. The SurfHub Plans including the SurfHub 12, SurfHub 15, SurfHub 18 and SurfHub 24 mobile service voice plans; and
      5. The HomeHub Go SurfHub Plans including HomeHub Go SurfHub 15 and HomeHub Go SurfHub 15 Add-on mobile service voice plans. 
    3. These Specific Terms and Conditions for StarHub Mobile Service Voice Plans are applicable to existing subscriptions of the SmartSurf Plans. The SmartSurf Plans are no longer available for new subscriptions with effect from 19 September 2014.
    4. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between any provision of these Specific Terms & Conditions for StarHub Mobile Service Voice Plans, the Consumer General Terms & Conditions and Service Specific Terms & Conditions, the documents shall be construed in the following order of precedence:
      1. Specific Terms and Conditions for StarHub Mobile Voice Plans;
      2. Service Specific Terms & Conditions for StarHub Mobile Services; and
      3. Consumer General Terms & Conditions.
  2. Charges
    1. Where Goods and Services Taxes (“GST”) is applicable, all the stipulated charges are inclusive of GST.
    2. In addition to the charges stated in the applicable brochures, the following charges apply:
      1. One-time registration fee for all new subscriptions to our mobile service voice plans of $37.45 for the main line. An additional $26.75 will be chargeable for MultiSIM where a MultiSIM is purchased.
      2. While a fixed number of voice calls, SMS and data are bundled into your relevant mobile service voice plan, where your use of the Service exceeds the stated fixed amounts, excess charges will apply to your use of the Services as follows for such use that is over and above the amount stated in the bundle:

Voice Calls 16.05 cents per minute. The charging starts from a minimum one-minute charge and subsequent per second basis thereafter.
SMS 5.35 cents per SMS
Data 4G300M, 4G 3, 4G 4, 4G 5, 4G 6, 4G 12, SurfHub 12, SurfHub 15, SurfHub 18, SurfHub 24, HomeHub Go SurfHub 15 & HomeHub Go SurfHub 15 Add-on 0.0107cents/KB up to maximum $10.70/GB, capped at $168/month
SmartSurf HD Value & SmartSurf HD Plus 0.0107cents/KB up to maximum $10.70/GB, capped at $107/month
SmartSurf HD Premium plan 0.0107cents/KB up to maximum $5.35/GB, capped at $107/month 
    1. If you wish to replace your SIM card, a SIM card fee of $26.75 will be charged.
    2. When you use the data services overseas, the prevailing roaming GPRS charges will apply for your use of data.
  1. 4G Plans
    1. For the 4G Mobile Service Voice Plans, the maximum speed will be LTE 300Mbps.
    2. If you have subscribed to a 4G Mobile Service Voice plan and if you wish to subscribe to the Free IDD 018 Value-Added Service (“VAS”) you may do so under the terms and conditions of the Free IDD 018 VAS. In addition, there will be a limitation of 2000 minutes a month for the maximum duration of the IDD calls made under the Free IDD 018 VAS. Thereafter, for each minute that you use in excess of the 2000 minutes a month (“excess minutes”), there will a charge imposed for the excess minutes at the prevailing rates for local calls.
    3. If you have subscribed to the 4G 12 Plan, we may, at our discretion, issue to you a $500 handset voucher after you have completed 12 consecutive months of continuous active service on the 4G 12 Plan. The voucher would be applicable for your use upon your renewal of the 4G 12 Plan for another 24 months. Other Terms & Conditions for use of voucher as stated in the voucher will apply.
  2. SurfHub Plan
    1. SurfHub Plans are available only for consumers including Corporate Individual Scheme (NRIC or FIN) and are not applicable for BRN registered customers. 
    2. SurfHub Plan is offered at 50% discount on the condition that customer sign up/recontract with 1Gbps Fibre Broadband at the same time. Each service is subject to 2-year contract. 
    3. Only ONE SurfHub plan is allowed for every sign up/recontract to 1Gbps Fubre Broadband and customer may choose any of the following plan: 
      1. SurfHub 12
      2. SurfHub 15
      3. SurfHub 18
      4. SurfHub 24
    4. Customer can choose to opt in any of the following value added service(s) at 50% discount at the point of SurfHub Plan sign up/recontract:
      1. 50% off one MultiSIM subscription or 2-in-1 Line subscription
      2. 50% off International Roaming subscription for 24 months

        Discount for the VASes will cease when customer is no longer on SurfHub plan or when the VAS is terminated, whichever is earlier.
         
    5. Customer can choose optional StarHub Go Select subscription at 50% discount for 12 months at the point of SurfHub Plan sign up/recontract.
    6. To maintain SurfHub plan upon recontract, customer must also recontract to 1Gbps Fibre Broadband in the same sales order. 
    7. An Early Recontract Fee of $300 will be applicable if customer chooses to recontract SurfHub plan between the 13th to 20th months of current contract.
    8. SurfHub plans are mutually exclusive with
      1. SharePlus
      2. Plus 3 Data Upsize VAS
    9. The 50% discount for SurfHub plan is mutually exclusive and is not applicable with any other discounts or promotions, namely but not limited to:
      1. Hub Club Discounts 
      2. Corporate Individual Scheme Discounts / Partner Plan Discounts / Subscription Discounts / Bill Rebates 
      3. Youth Promotions (free VASes, and free unlimited SMS/MMS)
      4. SIM Only Plan Discounts 
    10. Customer is not entitled to the discounts in Clause 4.2 and Clause 4.4 if he changed from other mobile plan to SurfHub plan. 
    11. SurfHub Plan is not available for standalone sign up or recontract.
  3. SmartSurf HD Plan
    1. There are no student discounts applicable for any of the SmartSurf Plans.
  4. SIM Only Plan
    1. The SIM Only plans are available to post-paid subscribers whose mobile lines are registered under a NRIC or FIN.
    2. The SIM Only plans are available for new sign-ups and for existing StarHub postpaid mobile subscribers who do not have any existing contract commitment. Subscribers with mobile lines still active with any type of contract commitment will not be eligible to subscribe for the SIM Only plan.
    3. The SIM Only plans are available on an opt-in basis for standalone lines and SharePlus main lines (excluding SharePlus dependent lines) on
      1. 4G 300M
      2. 4G 3
      3. 4G 4
      4. 4G 5
      5. 4G 6
      6. 4G 12 subjected to point 4
    4. Subscribers on 4G 12 SIM Only plan will not be eligible for the $500 handset upgrade voucher.
    5. The SIM Only plan is entitled to a 50% discount off the  prevailing monthly subscription on an on-going monthly basis while not on any contract commitment.
    6. The SIM Only plan will be automatically terminated  in the event the customer signs-up for any other promotion or contract commitment (e.g. device commitment).  In such event, the 50% discount will cease and the  prevailing monthly 4G plan subscription rate will apply. For the avoidance of doubt, there will not be any termination charges for termination of the SIM Only plan.
    7. The SIM Only 50% discount is mutually exclusive and is not applicable with any other discounts or promotions, namely but not limited to:
      1. Hub Club Discounts
      2. Corporate Discounts / CIS Discounts / Partner Plan Discounts  (discounts and free VASes)
      3. Subscription Discounts
      4. Youth promotions (free VASes, and free unlimited SMS/MMS)
      5. Bill Rebates
    8. Subscribers on the SIM Only plan  will be eligible for Hub Club membership and will count towards the Hub Club mobile line count but the line will not be eligible for Hub Club discounts.
    9. Existing subscribers who are currently on mobile plans that are no longer offered for subscription by StarHub must first change their price plan to the prevailing 4G plan prior to opting-in to the SIM Only plan. Subscribers  who change their price plans to the new 4G plans will not be able to revert back to their previous price plans (as StarHub no longer offers those plans).
    10. StarHub reserves the right to cease the SIM Only plan at its discretion without any prior notice.
    11. StarHub reserves the right to change any part of these Terms & Conditions from time to time without notice.
    12. The use of SIM Only plans are subject to StarHub’s General Terms & Conditions, Specific Terms & Conditions, and any other terms and conditions that subscribers may have agreed from time to time.  Subscribers may view our terms and conditions at Legal Notices & Terms.
  5. Unlimited SMS/MMS and/or talktime
    1. Under certain Mobile Service Voice Plans, we may offer to you SMS/MMS and/or talktime without charge and without limitation in the number of SMS/MMS and/or talktime that you can use (“Unlimited SMS/MMS and talktime”).
    2. The Unlimited SMS/MMS and talktime are applicable only for SMS/MMS and voice calls sent by you to any local number (whether mobile or fixed-line). Our prevailing IDD charges will apply to any SMS/MMS or voicecall that is sent to a number that is not local.
    3. You may only use the Unlimited SMS/MMS and talktime for personal and non-commercial purposes.
    4. You may not abuse or misuse the Unlimited SMS/MMS and talktime or otherwise use any of the Unlimited SMS/MMS and talktime in breach of any other applicable restrictions on your use of StarHub Services under StarHub Terms and Conditions, such as Clauses 4.4 and 4.5 of the General Terms and Conditions.
    5. If, we in our sole discretion, determine that you are in breach of the above conditions in relation to your use of the Unlimited SMS/MMS and talktime, we may:
      1. suspend, restrict and/or terminate your access to the SMS/MMS and/or voice call services or any part thereof, without any liability to you; and/or
      2. charge you at the prevailing rates for your use of the SMS/MMS and talktime.
  6. Youth Perks for Students & NSFs
    1. Only 4G 3 and 4G 4 mobile service voice plans are eligible for Youth Perks.
    2. Despite the limited number of SMS/MMS and Data stated to be bundled in your mobile service voice plan, we may give your additional free SMS/MMS (“Unlimited SMS/MMS”) and Data (“Data Upsize VAS”) if you are a qualifying student or NSFs, subject to the following terms and conditions.
    3. At the time of a new subscription or a renewal of an eligiblemobile service voice plan, you must provide a valid local student pass or NSF card. You would be entitled to sign up for only one mobile service plan for each student pass and/or NSF card.
    4. You may only use the Unlimited SMS/MMS for personal and non-commercial purposes.
    5. You may not abuse or misuse the Unlimited SMS/MMS or otherwise use any of the Unlimited SMS/MMS in breach of any other applicable restrictions on your use of StarHub Services under StarHub Terms and Conditions, such as Clauses 4.4 and 4.5 of the General Terms and Conditions.
    6. If, we in our sole discretion determine that you are in breach of the above conditions in relation to your use of the Unlimited SMS/MMS, we may:
      1. suspend, restrict and/or terminate your access to the SMS/MMS Services or any part thereof, without any liability to you; and/or
      2. charge you at the prevailing rates for your use of the SMS/MMS and talktime.
    7. If you are subscribing to a 4G Plan with Youth Perks, you will not be eligible to nominate the number under the Student/NSF plan as the main line subscription for SharePlus plan.
    8. StarHub reserves the right to introduce different Youth Perks mechanic from time to time. Please see full Youth Perks Terms and Conditions here at Youth Mobile Plans Terms & Conditions.
  7. Hub Club Privileges
    1. You would be eligible to qualify for Hub Club membership if you have subscribed to all of the 3 following services:
      1. StarHub Mobile Postpaid Services;
      2. StarHub CableTV Services; and
      3. StarHub Broadband services.
    2. For this purpose, all the above mentioned Services must be registered under your name and NRIC or FIN number and under the same residential address.
    3. For the SmartSurf HD Plans, SurfHub Plans and HomeHub Go SurfHub 15 Plan, you would be entitled to Hub Club membership, but not to discounts on the Charges applicable to your SmartSurf HD plans, SurfHub Plans or HomeHub Go SurfHub 15 Plan.

  8. Data Upsize VAS (1GB/ 2GB/ 3GB)
    1. Valid for SharePlus parent lines, standalone new and existing StarHub Mobile customers who re-contract on 4G300M/ 4G3/ 4G4/ 4G5/ 4G6/ 4G12, SurfHub 12, SurfHub 15, SurfHub 18, SurfHub 24, HomeHub Go SurfHub 15 and HomeHub Go SurfHub 15 Add-on mobile plans.
    2. Maximum of one 1GB/2GB/3GB data upsize is permitted for each mobile phone number.
    3. The Data Upsize VAS of 1GB, 2GB and 3GB are mutually exclusive and cannot be collected together for a single mobile phone line.
    4. Data bundled from the Data Upsize Value Add Service cannot be shared.
    5. Excess data charges are billed to individual mobile phone lines upon utilization of both the plan data bundle and data upsize VAS.
    6. There is a one-time activation charge of $10.70 for any sign up of Data Upsize VAS.
  9. Promotions
    1. Under the various Mobile Service Voice Plans, we may at our discretion, from time to time offer certain promotions for a limited period.
    2. For the Mobile Service Voice Plans listed under Clause 1.2 above, you will be entitled to the following promotions for a limited period until 31st December 2016, whereupon the prevailing Charges shall apply:
      1. Free 100 Outgoing Video Calls: we will waive the video call charge for the first 100 minutes of outgoing video calls made to any number in Singapore.
      2. IDD 008 Outgoing Video Calls: we will charge a flat rate of 88 cents per minute for outgoing video calls made under our IDD 008 service to certain overseas destinations. Please see the full list of supported destinations.
      3. MMS Promotion: we will charge a flat rate of 5.35 cents per MMS for MMS sent to any number in Singapore. This promotion is not applicable to Global MMS.
      4. Free 100 SMS with GIRO: if you sign up for GIRO payment for your StarHub bills by 31 December, we will give you 100 SMS/MMS for free. This promotion is not applicable to SharePlus plans, DataPack and Employee Plans.
      5. 3 month waiver of International Roaming VAS: if you subscribe for the International Roaming Value-Added-Service together with your 2-year subscription for a new mobile plan, 3 months of International Roaming will be waived.
      6. For Corporate Individual Scheme customers, please check with your respective Company's HR personnel on the latest promotions.  

    For the avoidance of doubt, the abovementioned promotions are not granted for the SmartSurf Plans.
