Terms & Conditions - HomeConnect Card


  1. Definition
    1. In this Section,
      1. "Card" refers to StarHub HomeConnect prepaid International calling card;
      2. "Services" refer to the services made from and in connection with the Card, including but not limited to, any and all local and international calls made through the card from Singapore, provided by StarHub Ltd (Reg. No. 199802208C).
  2. Your Obligations
    1. By purchasing the Card or using the Card and Services, you shall be deemed to have accepted and agreed to all of the Terms & Conditions of this Agreement, including our (Consumer) General Terms & Conditions, which shall apply in addition to these Terms & Conditions.  In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the (Consumer) General Terms & Conditions and these Terms & Conditions, the latter shall prevail.
    2. You shall be responsible for the Card and Services and must ensure that anyone using the Card and Services complies with all of the Terms & Conditions of this Agreement.
    3. You shall use the Card and Services in accordance with our instructions, guidelines, notices and directions as may be issued by us from time to time. For example, in order to activate a new and unutilised Card whilst in Singapore, you must dial 1884 or 68201884 and enter the card number of the Card; to make an international call back to Singapore from abroad, you must dial the correct country access number of the country you are in.  For the latest instructions, guidelines, notices and directions, you must always refer to our website.
    4. You acknowledge and agree that:
      1. You shall be responsible for all prevailing Charges made in relation to the Charges made in relation to the Card and Services, including but not limited to, prevailing local and international usage Charges and roaming Charges;
      2. If you make a call from your mobile line, you shall be responsible for all prevailing mobile airtime Charges;
      3. If you make a call from a payphone, you shall be responsible for all prevailing access surcharge as notified by us;
      4. If you make a call from overseas, you shall be responsible for all prevailing access surcharges or taxes or any other Charges imposed in relation to such overseas calls, including but not limited to, Charges imposed by overseas Service Providers or other providers like hotels and the like;
      5. Unless otherwise notified by us, all Charges will be billed on a per minute basis;
      6. In addition to the usual Charges, other surcharges may be payable, including but not limited to, surcharges or taxes imposed by other or overseas Service Providers or hotels when dialling from Overseas into Singapore;
      7. The card number printed on each Card or receipt voucher is unique to that particular Card ("Card Number");
      8. You shall be solely responsible for the security and secrecy of the Card Number and you must ensure that such Card Number shall not be disclosed or revealed to any third party;
      9. You shall be sole responsible for all activities that occur under such Card Number; and
      10. Each Card has a validity period and an expiry date.  Each Card is valid for 120 days from the date it is first used or is valid until the expiry date printed on Card, whichever is earlier.  You cannot use the Card past its expiry date and are encouraged to use it before its expiry date.
    5. Unless otherwise notified by us, no mobile airtime Charges will be incurred by you for the Services if you dial 1884 or 68201884 using StarHub's Green Prepaid mobile service.
    6. For the avoidance of doubt, all Charges incurred under this Agreement shall be subject to our prevailing tariffs as maybe varied by us from time to time in our sole discretion and without notice to you.
  3. Our Rights
    1. At all times, you acknowledge and agree that the Card belongs to us and if we so request, you must promptly return it to us.
    2. Charges will be calculated based on our records or, where applicable, records supplied to us by another Service Provider.  All our records relating to the Card, Services and calls, including but not limited to the duration of each call, shall be conclusive evidence of the accuracy, completeness and truth of all matters stated in them.
  4. Liability
    1. If a card is defective due to our fault, we will replace it if you tell us at the time of purchase of such Card.  Apart from the foregoing, any and all Cards once sold are not refundable, returnable or exchangeable under any circumstances.
    2. We will not refund any unused or remaining value stored on a Card under any circumstances whatsoever and howsoever arising and whether or not before or after the expiry date of the Card, including but not limited to, instances where the stored value has been erased and instances where the Card has been misplaced, lost, stolen or damaged in any way.
    3. Although it may say differently elsewhere in this Agreement if we or any of the Relevant Parties are liable to you, and we cannot, for any reason, rely on the exclusion of liability set out in this Agreement, then in no event will our liability for damages, losses, costs or expenses suffered or incurred by you and anyone else (whether in contract, tort, negligence, misrepresentation, strict liability or statute or otherwise) exceed the price of the affected Card.
    4. The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and you agree that you use the Services or rely on any Content obtained through the Services at your sole risk.  We expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement to the fullest extent allowed by law.  No advice or information whether oral or written, obtained by your from us or through the Services will create any warranty not expressly made in this Agreement.  For clarity, we make no warranty in relation to any calls made from the Services.
    5. Without prejudice to the foregoing paragraph, we make no warranty :
      1. that the Services will not cause any harm to your hardware, system or Content;
      2. As to the accuracy, reliability or quality of any and all Content obtained through the Services and any and all calls made through the Services; and
      3. that the Services and access to them, including any and all calls made through the Services will be connected, are error free and uninterrupted or available at all times.
    6. You shall be solely responsible for all Content/data retrieved, stored or transmitted through the Services.
    7. If you are dissatisfied with the Services or with the Content, products or services available on or through the Services or with any of the Terms & Conditions of this Agreement, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue accessing and using the Services or terminate the Services according to this Agreement.
