Terms & Conditions - Dual Broadband Plans

 

  1. General
    1. In addition to these Promotion Terms & Conditions, your use of StarHub Cable Home Broadband and Fibre Home Broadband Services (collectively, “Home Broadband Services”) is subject to StarHub's General Consumer Terms & Conditions, Service Specific Terms & Conditions for Cable Home Broadband, Service Specific Terms & Conditions for Fibre Home Broadband, and any other terms and conditions that you and we may have agreed to from time to time. You may view our terms and conditions at Legal Notices & Terms.
    2. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between any provision of these Promotion Terms & Conditions, the General Consumer Terms & Conditions and Service Specific Terms & Conditions, the documents shall be construed in the following order of precedence:
      1. Promotion Terms & Conditions;
      2. Service Specific Terms & Conditions for Cable Home Broadband or Service Specific Terms & Conditions for Fibre Home Broadband (as the case may be); and
      3. General Consumer Terms & Conditions.
    3. This Promotion is available to all new Home Broadband Service customers and to existing Home Broadband Service customers who are not on any other promotional contract.
    4. Under this Promotion, customers will enjoy both Cable and Fibre Home Broadband Services at the promotional rates of $39.90 for the Dual Broadband 200 plan, $49.90 for the Dual Broadband 500 plan and $59.90 for the Dual Broadband 1000 plan (each a “Dual Broadband plan”), during the 24-month contractual period.
  2. Eligibility
    1. This Promotion is not available to any customer who has any outstanding bills with StarHub.
    2. Customer must be 18 years old and above.
    3. This Promotion is not applicable to commercial or bulk subscription customers, as well as customers on employer-payment schemes.
  3. Minimum Period of Service and Early Termination Charges
    1. You will be required to subscribe to a Dual Broadband plan for a minimum of period of 24 months (“Minimum Period of Service”), commencing from:
      1. the date of purchase of the equipment required for the provision of the Home Broadband Services (“Equipment”) if the Equipment is purchased directly from StarHub and you self-install the Equipment;
      2. the date of activation of the Home Broadband Services to the Equipment at the Service Address if the Equipment is purchased from any of StarHub's authorised resellers and you self-install the Equipment;
      3. the date of activation of the Home Broadband Services to the Equipment at the Service Address, after the successful on-site installation of the Equipment by us, if you request us to install the Equipment; or
      4. such other date as may be stated in the application form or work order or otherwise approved by us in writing.
    2. An early termination charge (“the Promotion Early Termination Charge”), as set out below, will be imposed if you terminate your Dual  Broadband plan during the Minimum Period of Service. You will be required to terminate your Dual Broadband plan before upgrading, downgrading or changing to other subscription plans, and the applicable Promotion Early Termination Charges will be chargeable.

    1. In addition to the Promotion Early Termination Charge, another early termination charge will also apply if you terminate your Dual Broadband plan within the first 12 months of your subscription (“the Service Early Termination Charge”). The Service Early Termination Charge will be calculated on a pro-rated basis, using the formula below:

      Remaining number of unfulfilled days in the 12-month period / 365 x $385.20

    2. If you suspend your Dual Broadband plan, both your Cable and Fibre Home Broadband Services will be suspended at the same time. If you wish to resume your services after suspension, a re-connection fee of $32.10 is chargeable.
  1. Additional Requirements and Features
    1. This Promotion is only applicable to residential premises which are fibre-ready and certified with a Fibre Termination Point (“FTP”) within the premises and are connected to StarHub's cable network with reverse signal for 2-way interactivity.
    2. This Promotion does not include the installation of customer’s FTP.  Customers who do not have an FTP already installed at their premises will have to arrange with NetLink Trust for the FTP to be installed, and pay NetLink Trust for the installation based on their prevailing rates.
    3. In addition, an Optical Network Terminal is required to access the Fibre Home Broadband Service. You will be required to lease an Optical Network Terminal from StarHub or the relevant service provider.
    4. We are unable to guarantee full wireless coverage in any residential home, as there are many factors affecting wireless signals, including the existence of physical obstructions, signal interference from other devices, congested wireless channels, compatibility of Wi-Fi standards between devices, inherent limitations of equipment including personal computers and routers.
    5. StarHub’s Network Management Policy will not apply to your 1Gbps Fibre Home Broadband Service, but will continue to apply for all other Cable and Fibre Home Broadband Services.
    6. Each customer will be entitled to a free WiFi assessment by our Hub Trooper. During installation of the Home Broadband Services, the Hubtrooper will assess customers’ internet surfing requirements, and advise on the placement of the Wireless AC Dual-band Router and cable modem (type-approved and obtained from StarHub), to optimise in-home wireless broadband coverage and to enhance wireless surfing experience.
  1. Additional Fees
    1. An activation fee of $53.50 is chargeable for the activation of each new Dual Broadband plan.
    2. You will be required to give StarHub 30 days’ prior written notice if you wish to terminate your Dual Broadband plan. A disconnection fee of $32.10 is chargeable to disconnect each Dual Broadband plan.
    3. Installation services for the Wireless AC Dual-band Router and cable modem is available for a fee of $53.50 per computer connection, unless stated otherwise. This installation service is limited to the installation of the Wireless AC Dual-band Router and cable modem only (type-approved and obtained from StarHub).
  1. Additional Terms for Free Premiums (where applicable)
    1. Where applicable, any free premium that may be offered with the Dual Broadband plan must be redeemed within 6 months from the date of commencement of the Dual Broadband plan.
    2. StarHub may, in its sole discretion, provide free premiums to customers on a first-come-first-served basis. StarHub may replace the brand and model of any premium with another premium of equal or lower value.
    3. StarHub will not be responsible for any defects in a free premium or, if applicable, any items which customers may have connected to the free premium. Any free premium shall be covered under and subject to the terms of warranty from the relevant manufacturers.
  1. Others
    1. In the event of a dispute, a customer's entitlement to this Promotion is subject to the sole discretion and final determination of StarHub.
    2. All prices stated are inclusive of 7% GST. Prices will be adjusted according to the prevailing GST rates.
    3. Promotion is not valid with other discounts, promotions, offers or special packages, unless specified by StarHub.
    4. Promotion cannot be used to offset existing subscription charges or outstanding balances due to StarHub.
    5. Promotion is non-exchangeable for cash or kind, and is non-refundable and non-transferable.
    6. StarHub further reserves the right to revise any of these Promotion Terms & Conditions (including pricing plans) at its sole discretion without prior notice. Your use of StarHub Home Broadband Services will constitute acceptance of these Promotion Terms & Conditions and the amendments thereof.
    7. These Promotion Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Singapore and parties agree to be bound by the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
Terms & Conditions - Fibre Home Broadband

 

  1. This Promotion is available for new Fibre Home Broadband subscriptions and to existing Cable home broadband and/or Fibre home broadband customers who are not on any other promotional contract.
  2. This Promotion would not be available to any customer who has any outstanding bills with StarHub.
  3. Customer must be 18 years old and above.
  4. This Promotion is available until such date as StarHub may determine.
  5. A minimum contractual subscription period of 24 continuous months to Fibre Home Broadband plan is required.
  6. An early termination charge will be imposed for any early termination during the said 24-month as set out below (“the Promotion Early Termination Charge”). This Promotion Early Termination Charge is also applicable in the event of any plan upgrade/ downgrade/ change of promotion or move from Cable to Fibre plans or vice versa.

  1. In addition to the Promotion Early Termination Charge, another early termination charge will also apply if the termination occurs within the first 12-month of subscription (“the Service Early Termination Charge”). The Service Early Termination Charge will be calculated by pro-rating the amount of $385.20 on a per day basis for the unfulfilled remainder of the aforesaid 12-month period.
  2. The discount given under this Promotion will apply only to the first 24-month of subscription. Thereafter, StarHub’s prevailing rates for the relevant Fibre home broadband service shall apply.
  3. This Promotion is not valid with other in-house offers or packages unless specified by StarHub.
  4. This Promotion is only applicable to residential properties which are fibre-ready and certified and have a Termination Point within the property.
  5. An activation fee of $53.50 is chargeable for the activation of each new Fibre home broadband access plan.
  6. Customers who wish to terminate the Fibre home broadband service shall inform StarHub 30-day in advance of termination. A disconnection fee of $32.10 is chargeable for the disconnection of each Fibre home broadband access plan.
  7. An Optical Network Terminal is required for the operation of the Fibre home broadband service. The Customer shall be required to lease an Optical Network Terminal from StarHub or the relevant service provider.
  8. The installation service for the Wireless AC Dual-band Router is available and chargeable at $53.50 per computer connection, unless otherwise stated. This installation service is limited to the installation of Wireless AC Dual-band Router.
  9. The Fibre home broadband subscription commences on the date that the Wireless AC Dual-band Router is delivered and installed at Customer’s premises.
  10. This Promotion is not valid with other in-house offers or packages unless specified by StarHub.
  11. This Promotion is not applicable to:
    1. corporate customers,
    2. customers on master-account bulk paying arrangements and/or customers on employer-paying schemes,
    3. customers on master-account bulk paying arrangements and/or
    4. landed residential homeowners who are enjoying complimentary MaxOnline service under the Landed Connection Fee Plan.
  12. This Promotion does not include the installation of customer’s FTP. Customers who do not have an FTP already installed at their premises will have to arrange with NetLink Trust for the FTP to be installed, and pay NetLink Trust for the installation based on their prevailing rates.
  13. Where applicable, any free premium(s) that may be offered with the Fibre home broadband service must be redeemed within 6-month from the date of installation.
  14. Any free premium(s) is made available by StarHub on a first-come-first-serve basis. StarHub reserves the right to replace the brand and model of the premium(s) with other premium(s) of equal or lower value.

  1. This Promotion is available for new Fibre Home Broadband subscriptions and to existing Cable home broadband and/or Fibre home broadband customers who are not on any other promotional contract.

Terms & Conditions – Home Broadband Downgrade Promotion

 

  1. General

    1. In addition to these Promotion Terms & Conditions, your use of Fibre Home Broadband Services and/or Cable Home Broadband Services (collectively, "Home Broadband Services") is subject to StarHub's General Consumer Terms & Conditions, Service Specific Terms & Conditions for Cable Home Broadband, Service Specific Terms & Conditions for Fibre Home Broadband, and any other terms and conditions to which you and we may have agreed to from time to time.     2. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between any provision of these Promotion Terms & Conditions, the General Consumer Terms & Conditions and Service Specific Terms & Conditions, the documents shall be construed in the following order of precedence:

  2. Eligibility
    1. This Promotion is available for existing Fibre Home Broadband customers who are not on any other promotional contract, who are eligible to re-contract for Service while the promotion is valid and who do not have outstanding bills due to StarHub.
    2. The residential Premises must be cable-ready.
    3. This Promotion is not available to Fibre HomeHub, Fibre HomeHub Go, Fibre SurfHub, Dual Broadband, Fibre Broadband standalone customers with Digital Voice Service, and/or Fibre Television Service.
    4. Customers must be 18 years old and above.
    5. This promotion is not available to commercial or bulk subscription customers, as well as customers on employer payment schemes.

  3. Additional Promotion Terms
    1. Under this Promotion, Fibre Broadband customers may elect, at the time of recontracting, to change to Cable Home Broadband Service without incurring any connection, disconnection, or termination Charges.
    2. Payment of a “Broadband Downgrade Fee” in the amount of $15.00 (GST inclusive) is applicable.
    3. Additional Equipment charges may apply.
    4. An early termination charge ("the Promotion Early Termination Charge"), will be imposed if you terminate your Cable Home Broadband plan during the Minimum Period of Service. Please refer to your Service Agreement for the applicable Minimum Period of Service and Early Termination Charge.

  4. Others
    1. In the event of a dispute, a customer's entitlement to this Promotion is subject to the sole discretion and final determination of StarHub.
    2. All prices stated are inclusive of 7% GST. Prices will be adjusted according to the prevailing GST rates.
    3. Promotion is not available with other discounts, promotions, special packages or offers, unless specified by StarHub.
    4. Promotion cannot be used to offset existing subscription charges or outstanding balances, cannot be exchanged for cash or benefits-in-kind and is non-refundable.

Terms & Conditions – Monthly Equipment Installment (“Installment Payment”)

 

  1. This Installment Payment is available for purchases of certain designated Equipment only (“Eligible Equipment”) by NRIC customers of StarHub Cable Home Broadband, Fibre Home Broadband, Dual Broadband, HomeHub, HomeHub Go, and SurfHub (collectively “Home Broadband Service”) at the initial point of contract for a new contract sign-up/ re-contract for Home Broadband services (each an “Eligible Plan”). StarHub reserves the sole right to (i) determine a customer’s eligibility to participate in the Installment Payment; and (ii) determine the Eligible Equipment.

  2. This Installment Payment is not available to:

    i. Corporate customers, even if a residential address is used; and
    ii. Customers who are less than 21 years old.

  3. Customers who are eligible and have enrolled in the Installment Payment will be allowed to pay the price of their Eligible Equipment (“Purchase Price”) over a period of months equal to the length of the Eligible Plan commitment. The Purchase Price will be charged in equal installments through the monthly postpaid bill and the customer shall pay the installments on time.  Customers may not use a voucher, discount, cash-in-kind or other device trade-in to offset an Installment Payment.  In the event of default, the customer will be automatically withdrawn from the Installment Payment without further notice and will be billed the remaining Purchase Price in a single lump sum, which amount shall become due and payable immediately.

  4. StarHub reserves the sole right to determine the number of concurrent Installment Payment arrangements a customer may undertake.

  5. Early termination of the Installment Payment or Eligible Plan (for any reasons) or transfer of the Home Broadband Service ownership by customers will also result in automatic withdrawal of the customer from the Installment Payment without further notice to the customer. In such event, the customer will be billed the remaining Purchase Price in a single lump sum, which amount shall become due and payable immediately.

  6. The Installment Payment will not be suspended if the Eligible Plan is suspended for any reason pursuant to the applicable terms. During the suspension period, the customer will be charged for the installments through the monthly postpaid bill and the customer shall continue to pay the installments on time.

  7. StarHub reserves the right to amend any part of these Terms & Conditions without notice to customer. All amendments shall be posted on this website and shall take effect from the date that they are so posted. The use of the Installment Payment is at all times subject to StarHub's Consumer General Terms & Conditions, the Service Specific Terms and Conditions applicable to Home Broadband Services and any other applicable terms and conditions, as same may be amended from time to time. Terms & Conditions – Google Wifi Router

 

  1. General

    The sale and purchase of the Google Wifi Router (“the Device”) is subject to StarHub’s General Consumer Terms and Conditions and any other terms and conditions that you and we may have agreed to from time to time.  You may view our terms and conditions at http://www.starhub.com.

  2. Eligibility

    1. The Device is available for purchase from us if you are a new subscriber or are re-contracting for a new subscription for any of the following StarHub services:
      1. StarHub Cable Home Broadband; or
      2. Fibre Home Broadband.
         
    2. StarHub reserves the sole right to determine your eligibility to purchase the Device.
    3. Our sale of the Device is subject to availability.
       
  3. Price and Payment

    1. The Device will be available at a fixed price, as listed in our price plans.
    2. You may choose to make a one-time cash payment for the Device, or pay by instalments under the Monthly Equipment Instalment plan that we offer subject to the terms and conditions of the Monthly Equipment Instalment plan.
       
  4. Limited Warranty

    1. We agree to provide to you a limited warranty for your Device, subject always to these Specific Terms and Conditions.
    2. The period of the limited warranty is for 12 months commencing from the time of your purchase of the Device from us (“the Warranty Period”). The Warranty Period will not be extended for any reason, including a replacement of the Device during the Warranty Period.
    3. We provide this limited warranty only for Devices that have been purchased from us, and not from any other third party.  We reserve the right to determine whether your Device has been purchased from us by the issuance identification number printed on the Device. If the identification number is not visible or legible, then the Device will be deemed to have been sold to you by a third party, and not by us.
    4. The limited warranty will be void if:
      1. we find that your Device appears to have been physically damaged whether by yourself or any third party (including normal wear and tear, neglect, disassembly, alternation, unauthorised servicing, or refurbishing), misused, dropped, wet; or if the seal of the Device appears to have  been broken, peeled or tampered with; or if the damage, failure or defect appears to have been caused by anomalies in the electrical current supplied to the Device, extreme thermal or environmental conditions, accident or an act of God;
      2. you cease to be a subscriber to either of the StarHub Cable Home Broadband or the Fibre Home Broadband service for any reason; or
      3. the Device is disconnected from the StarHub network or the StarHub Cable Home Broadband or the Fibre Home Broadband at any time of claim.
         
    5. The limited warranty will be given only if the following defects in the Device are found by us:
      1. a failure to switch on or power up;
      2. the Single Service Identification (“SSID”) is not being broadcast while the device is switched on as indicated by a flashing red or amber light; or
      3. such other defect as we deem fit, and will not be given for any other form of defect, error, fault or failure in the Device.

    6. To enjoy the limited warranty, you must comply with our standard troubleshooting process, and if required by us, you must provide us access to both your Device and the Device app, including visibility of any information within the Device or Device app.
    7. If we determine that an assessment of the Device should be made by us at your premises, you will pay our standard transport and truck roll fees applicable for site visits, failing which the limited warranty will be void.
    8. If your Device qualifies under the limited warranty, to the extent permitted by law, we will provide a replacement device of equivalent or similar specifications. The replacement may not be of the same model and may not be new. We reserve the right to determine whether a replacement would be suitable, and if so, to determine the device that would be the most suitable replacement, and the condition of the replacement device.
    9. We will provide the replacement only after you have returned the Device and all related accessories to the Device to us, at your own cost. We will provide only one replacement for each Device regardless of the performance or condition of the replacement device during the Warranty Period.  All returned Devices shall become our property.
    10. We reserve the sole right to determine whether or not your Device qualifies for the limited warranty.

  5. Standard Manufacturer’s Warranty

    In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the provisions of any warranty given or held out by the manufacturer of the Device through any media such as internet terms and conditions or hard copy insert included in the packaging of your Device containing a warranty (e.g. the insert entitled Hardware Limited Warranty-Singapore) or other forms of communication to you and the provisions of these Specific Terms and Conditions, these Specific Terms and conditions shall prevail.

  6. No Warranty

    Save and except as expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions, you agree and accept that we make no guarantee or warranty whether express or implied on the Device, that it is new, in conformance with specifications, free from defects, safe for use, non-infringing, uninterrupted or error free, fit for purpose or of merchantable quality.

  7. Limitation of Liability

    1. We expressly excluding all liability to you (including all liability in contract, tort, negligence, misrepresentation, strict liability or statute) for any loss, claim or damage suffered by you from your purchase, use or possession of the Device.
    2. We expressly exclude all liability for any special incidental indirect, consequential or punitive damages, losses, costs or expense even if such damages, loss, costs or expenses were caused wilfully, reckless or negligently.  Under no circumstances will we be liable for any lost profits, revenue, business or anticipated savings even if such damages, losses costs or expense were caused wilfully, recklessly or negligently.
    3. If we are liable to you or if we cannot for any reason rely on the exclusion of liability set out in these Terms and Conditions, then in no event will our liability for damages, losses, costs or expenses suffered or incurred by you or anyone else (whether in contract, tor, negligence, misrepresentation, strict liability or statute or other) exceed the replacement of the Device with an equivalent or similar device or the cost thereof.
       
  8. Others

    We may from time to time change any of these Specific Terms & Conditions and/or such other terms and conditions agreed or accepted by you (including, without limitation, our tariffs, price plans, Charges and payment terms). We endeavour, where reasonably practicable, to give you reasonable advance notice of such changes. We will notify you of such changes through written notice, electronic mail, our bill, our website or such other form as we may deem appropriate. You agree that the display of the revised Terms & Conditions (including these e Specific Terms & Conditions) on our website will constitute notice of the changes. Your continued use of the Device will constitute acceptance of the changes and this Agreement.
