DO's

 

 

  1. Do contact StarHub Cable Vision before commencement of work for the development project to:
    1. Obtain service layout plan;
    2. Arrange site meeting for briefing by StarHub Cable Vision; and
    3. Discuss with StarHub Cable Vision on whether to divert or support those StarHub Cable Vision's plants that are affected by the development.
  2. Do carry out the following procedures prior to commencing excavation, piling, soil investigation or earthworks:
    1. Refer to StarHub Cable Vision's service layout plan;
    2. Carry out trial holes by manual digging when working in or near the vicinity of StarHub Cable Vision's plants to determine the depth and the alignment of StarHub Cable Vision's plants;
    3. Seek assistance from StarHub Cable Vision to ascertain the location of StarHub Cable Vision's plants;
    4. Provide visible markings (such as poles, tapes, painting and etc.) indicating the actual position of StarHub Cable Vision's plants within the construction site and inform StarHub Cable Vision for site inspection;
  3. Do note that the time required to carry out plant diversion ranges from 6 to 18 months. Such requirement should be taken into consideration during the planning stage of the project.
  4. Do submit to StarHub Cable Vision the method of support and protection to those exposed StarHub Cable Vision's plants for approval in the case that StarHub Cable Vision's plants are to be supported during the construction work at site.
  5. Do sever tree roots before grubbing the tree stump.
  6. Do inform StarHub Cable Vision on the dismantling of supports.
  7. Do inform StarHub Cable Vision on the back filling procedure over StarHub Cable Vision's plants.
  8. Do disseminate information regarding StarHub Cable Vision's service layout to your main contractor, subcontractors or machine operators as it has been found that poor or lack of communication is one of the main causes of damage to StarHub Cable Vision's plants.
  9. Do note that the depth of StarHub Cable Vision's plants varies due to the site conditions.
  10. Do submit a work schedule where works are to be carried out in the vicinity of StarHub Cable Vision's plants.
  11. Do report immediately on any damage done at telephone no. 6725 1570, as early reporting could reduce the cost of the damage.
  12. On request, StarHub Cable Vision can arrange to give a presentation to the developer, project consultant and main contractors to provide detailed information of all the StarHub Cable Vision's plants within the work site and the precautions to be taken by the contractors while working at the site,
  13. Do note the consequences of damaging StarHub Cable Vision's plants. Under the IDA Amended Act 1998 (TAS ACT) Sections 85 and 85A, the offender is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $1,000,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both. Moreover, the progress of site work will suffer delay.

DONT's

 

  1. Don't dig trial holes with JCB or excavator.
  2. Don't carry out any excavation, soil investigation, piling or earthworks in the vicinity of StarHub Cable Vision's line without confirming the actual positions of StarHub Cable Vision's plants.
  3. Don't open any StarHub Cable Vision's manhole and pedestal box.
  4. Don't cover up any StarHub Cable Vision's manhole and pedestal box with earth or building materials.
  5. Don't fence up any StarHub Cable Vision's manhole and pedestal box inside your work area.
  6. Don't grab up tree stumps without first severing the roots,
  7. Don't take for granted that StarHub Cable Vision's lines are in a straight run.
  8. Don't cover up damages but report them immediately.
  9. Don't dismantle any support for StarHub Cable Vision's plants without informing StarHub Cable Vision.
  10. Don't assume that the depth of StarHub Cable Vision's plants is not deeper than 1.5 metres.
  11. Don't remove any concrete encasement around StarHub Cable Vision's pipeline after exposing it unless approval from StarHub Cable Vision is given.
