Peter Kaliaropoulos

Chief Executive Officer

Peter Kaliaropoulos was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Group on 9 July 2018.

Peter has more than 35 years of experience in the global ICT sector, working with senior executive teams to drive growth and transformation. Prior to joining StarHub, Peter as Chief Executive Officer of Zain Saudi Arabia, a listed company with annual turnover of US$2 billion, led the telco to its first ever net profit in 2017 after ten years of operations.

He has held senior leadership roles as Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer with several wireless and fully integrated companies including BT (Asia Pacific), Telstra (Australia & USA), Optus (Australia), Clear (New Zealand), Batelco (Middle East), and Ooredoo (Kuwait). Peter also led commercial and operational activities as a key member of the StarHub senior executive team responsible for the company's launch in Singapore in April 2000.

He has also led a significant number of mergers and acquisitions and served as a Board Director to numerous telecommunications companies and ICT start-ups in Australia, USA, Singapore, India, and the Middle East.

Peter holds a Master's of Business Administration from Macquarie University, Australia and a Bachelor of Engineering, Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Dennis Chia

Chief Financial Officer

Dennis oversees StarHub’s financial health, develops key business strategies together with the core leadership team, ensures that business decisions are financially sound, and executes strategies through financial management. He is also responsible for driving acquisition strategies and merger and acquisition activities.

Dennis was the Senior Vice President and CFO of STATS ChipPAC (Worldwide), a leading provider of advanced semiconductor packaging and test services. Prior to that role, he was with Lear Corporation for over seven years as its Vice President of Finance, Asia Pacific Operations (APO), where he oversaw 400 regional finance staff in 30 manufacturing and administrative locations across Asia. Previously, he was the CFO of Behringer Corporation and Frontline Technologies Corporation, leading their successful listings on the Singapore Exchange. 

Dennis is a Chartered Accountant and currently a council member with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. 

He has a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Accountancy from the National University of Singapore and also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Hull, United Kingdom. 

Dr Chong Yoke Sin

Chief, Enterprise Business Group

Yoke Sin leads the enterprise business group at StarHub, and is responsible for driving the next growth phase of the business and deepening the engagement with the enterprise community.

Yoke Sin is a veteran in the IT industry with more than 30 years of experience. She was the CEO of Integrated Health Information Systems Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of MOH Holdings Pte Ltd. She also led the healthcare IT industry as Chair of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Asia Pacific Governing Council and was the first Asian Vice Chair on the HIMSS Board of Managers. HIMSS is the largest Healthcare Informatics society in the US and sets the benchmark for Hospital IT certification. In her prior roles, Yoke Sin was CEO of NCS Pte Ltd, moving up the ranks from Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Business Development.

In addition, Yoke Sin is Vice President of the Singapore Computer Society (SCS). She is also a Fellow of SCS and a Certified IT Project Manager (Senior). She currently sits on the Boards of the Singapore Land Authority, SG Enable, Republic Polytechnic and the National Kidney Foundation.

Yoke Sin holds a PhD in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and attended the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard University. She was conferred the Outstanding Alumni Award from NUS and the Hall of Fame from HIMSS for her contributions to the advancement of healthcare IT programmes in Asia Pacific.

Johan Buse

Chief, Consumer Business Group

Johan leads the consumer business group and is responsible for the development, marketing and delivery of consumer-market mobile and fixed products and services including pay TV. He also charts StarHub’s brand evolution.

Johan has more than 19 years of experience in the telecommunications industry across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, with the last 12 years as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) or Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile), Axis (STC) and Singtel. In 2014, he was recognised as one of The Forbes’ 50 most influential CMOs; and he speaks multiple languages including English, Dutch, French, German, Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin.

Johan joins from Ooredoo Oman as CCO, where he was responsible for marketing, sales and customer experience for mobile, fixed and new businesses. He led the successful rollouts of Super Fibre, Fast Home Broadband TD-LTE, 4G and 4G+ and OTT TV services in his three-year stint. His key achievements include introducing mobile financial services for micro lending and remittance, launching an award-winning digital self-care app and revamping the online shop experience for consumers. 

Johan graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Commercial Economics – Communications from Hogeschool Breda, Netherlands.

Veronica Lai

Chief Corporate Officer

Veronica was appointed as Chief Corporate Officer on 1 October 2018. In this role, Veronica is responsible for StarHub’s Corporate Communications, Legal and Corporate Secretariat, Regulatory and Sustainability functions. She provides leadership in managing corporate communications and reputation, regulatory matters and advises the Group on all legal aspects of operations, strategy and compliance. She also supports the Board Chairman and Directors on corporate secretarial matters.

Prior to this role, Veronica was the Group’s General Counsel and Company Secretary. In her career with the company, she oversaw the legal aspects of the merger of StarHub and Singapore Cable Vision, StarHub's successful IPO, the establishment of StarHub’s $2 billion medium-term note programme, and the setting up of Ensign InfoSecurity, the cyber security flagship joint venture with Temasek Holdings. Veronica was listed in Legal 500’s GC Powerlist for 2017 and 2018 and Corporate Counsel 100 for 2016 and 2017.  She was recognised as Asia Legal Business’ Top 25 in-house counsels in Asia for 2010. She also received the Asian Company Secretary 2013 Award for Singapore by Corporate Governance Asia, and the AsiaLaw 2007 Singapore In-house Counsel Award by Asia Law and Practice.

Prior to joining StarHub, Veronica practised at Rajah and Tann for six years, specialising in corporate and commercial law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore.

Chong Siew Loong

Chief Technology Officer

Siew Loong leads the Network Engineering Division, overseeing network operations, development and transformation. 

Siew Loong was one of the pioneers who played an instrumental role in the formative years of StarHub when the company won the licence to operate as Singapore’s third telco in 1998. During his first 11 years with StarHub, he held various leadership roles within the Network Engineering Division. Siew Loong set up and managed the Network and Systems Division at StarHub’s wholly-owned subsidiary Nucleus Connect Pte Ltd when the telco won the bid in 2009 to become the Operating Company (OpCo) for Singapore’s Nationwide Broadband Network, the world’s first open access network. Before joining StarHub, Siew Loong worked at another telco in Singapore as well as the Defence Science Organisation.

Siew Loong received the “40 under 40” award from the Global Telecoms Business in 2011, that recognised the telecoms industry’s young leaders. He holds a Bachelor of Electronics Engineering from Southampton University, United Kingdom.

Kee Yaw Yee

Chief Information Officer

Yaw Yee heads up the CIO Division in StarHub, covering Information Systems, Business Excellence, and Business Acceleration Office. In this role, he is responsible for the IT infrastructure, applications and systems, governance, policies and standards, certifications, as well as initiatives to accelerate business growth and improve operational effectiveness.

Yaw Yee has more than 22 years of information technology and management consulting experience in IT and telecoms. He has worked in multinational companies like Accenture, Hewlett-Packard and AsiaInfo. In his past roles, he has consistently delivered large-scale transformational programmes for local and regional clients, using different technology solution suites. He has worked extensively in the region and was responsible for setting up the country office, innovation lab, offshore delivery centre, business collaborations and joint ventures in some of the countries he had stationed in.

Yaw Yee holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Electronics (First Class Honours) from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the United Kingdom. He has a Performers’ Diploma in piano from the Trinity College of Music, London.

Chris Lipman

Head, Customer Service Experience

Chris leads the company-wide Customer Experience and Customer Service Operations across all touchpoints, to drive StarHub’s transformation to a consistently customer-centric brand.

Chris was Vice President for Customer Experience, Insights & Operations (Southeast Asia) at HOOQ Digital, a regional video OTT service provider. In his three years there, he successfully set the overall strategic direction of the customer experience team, established a customer-centric culture, managed vendor partnerships and built a pipeline of customer insights to assist the business. Prior to HOOQ Digital, Chris was Head of Customer Service & Experience at Globe Telecom, Philippines where he led a company-wide transformation project to build customer centricity and create best-in-class experiences across every stage of the customer journey. Chris has also held similar senior roles in Telstra, Optus and Virgin Mobile.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Land Economics from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia.

Catherine Chia

Senior Vice President, Human Resource

Catherine leads the overall human resource strategy, programmes and services, to accelerate the growth and performance of StarHub.   

Catherine has extensive human resource experience spanning multiple industries and geographies. She has worked with multinational companies such as GE and Dell, and one of Singapore’s leading banks United Overseas Bank. Prior to joining StarHub, she was Vice President of People Operations & Development at LEGO. In her previous roles, Catherine has implemented organisational change and transformation initiatives as well as developed leadership capabilities through robust talent management programmes. She has also worked on mergers, acquisitions and integration, and led the start-up of call centres in India and China.

Catherine holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) from the National University of Singapore.

Anubhav Kela

Head, Transformation

Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, Anubhav is responsible for driving and executing organisation-wide transformation agenda, including key business, digital and people initiatives. He also oversees the execution of strategy, partnering business leaders to champion strategic initiatives.

Anubhav brings along more than 26 years of international experience in finance, operations and strategy, with a strong track record of delivery in telecommunications and electronics companies, ranging from Fortune 500 to FTSE 100 and CAC 40. From 2016, he was the Chief Financial Officer for Global Customer Services & Service Transformation (London) at BT Global Services, where he led transformation and cultural change to create a customer-centric organisation. In addition, he helped drive operational transformation of Global Customer Services to embrace the next-generation digital environment. He has also held similar roles in BT’s Singapore and Hong Kong offices, covering Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. Prior to BT, he was in senior key roles in Alcatel-Lucent and Lucent Technologies, spanning China, Malaysia, Singapore and USA.

Anubhav has a Master of Science in Finance from Babson College - F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, USA; and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Lucknow, India.

Tim Goodchild

Senior Vice President, Government & Strategic Affairs

Tim and his team are responsible for managing StarHub's relationship with the regulators, and for providing regulatory support to StarHub's lines of business.

Tim joined StarHub in 2004, and has more than 25 years experience in telecommunications regulatory issues. His working career has included time with Telecom New Zealand, the Telecommunications Authority of Singapore (now the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore), Millicom International Cellular; and Equant Singapore. His career has given him exposure to regulatory regimes throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Tim holds an honours degree in Economics from Victoria University.
